My surgery is scheduled for April 14th. Dr Eid placing the coloplast titan w/ classic pump. During my mid 20’s and early 30’s in nyc I dated causally a large number of woman and had quite a lot of success. This was pre Ed of course. Past 5 years I’ve been in long term relationships until about two months ago when my most recent one ended. I will be facing the surgery alone and then entering the nyc dating scene as a bionic single man. If I meet someone who becomes a potential long term partner I will of course tell them about my surgery. However, I will likely want to be discrete and have fun for a while and date around and meet people out on the town.
Questions.
1. I hear the classic pump w/ Titan makes serious noise. Is that going to be an issue with woman being able to hear it? The last thing I need is more anxiety when getting intimate.
2. Any single guys care to comment on how adjusting to casually dating will be? Will I find a meaningful improvement over injections? In terms of confidence, spontenaity?

Hey man!
You’ll hear a ton of opinions here. Generally speaking, you should be able to learn some techniques and come up with sort of a “gameplan” for how to be discrete about your implant if you want to keep it a secret.
dan_bionic and LetoMan have excellent posts about this. I hope they chime in. Recently, Leto in particular had a really funny piece of feedback in this area:
“Spending a long weekend with a girl has been interesting in terms of how I inflate/deflate. I have developed a fool-proof strategy: I just don’t worry about it. I actually even went ahead and inflated while she was stroking and sucking me once. She said she loved feeling me get hard, with zero clue I was pumping it up… I presume she just thought I was playing with my balls. It’s consistent with the rest of my experiences: women may think something is weird about you (you are really into fondling your own balls, you are freakishly hard all the time, you have a super hard testicle), but they don’t make some giant leap of logic and guess you have an implant. They just roll with it. So what if he likes to play with his hard testicle? He fucks me til my eyes roll back in my head.”
But bottom line is that you can develop some strategies on how to pump up / deflate to keep things fairly incognito. Some guys have mentioned putting a few “pre-emptive” pumps in during a trip to the bathroom before they think they’re about to get freaky, then pumping the rest of the way during foreplay.
Another user “ElbowRoom” also has an excellent perspective on this, and it’s the opposite of how many of us think about it. With his partners so far, he’s been transparent about having the implant. And to be honest, even though I have a malleable implant (which SOMETIMES are a bit easier to hide the fact you’re implanted since you don’t have to pump), I’m actually considering doing the same. There’s no shame in it - we all have ED due to things out of our control, and we all chose to DO SOMETHING about it (which is unfortunately more than many men ever try to do!). That should be a source of pride regardless of whether you choose to disclose or not.
Anyways, long story short, there’s a lot of ways guys here are able to stay discreet about their implant (pre-pumping a bit + pumping during moments in foreplay is a classic one). I imagine if you’re going down on your partner, that’s a great opportunity to pump. And then on the flip slide, you can always say “fuck it” and just tell your lady friend “I have an implant in my dick, I’m proud of it, LETS GO ALL NIGHT”
you’ve got options.

For me, if I ever need to revise to an inflatable, I think I’d actually just go for the latter and tell the partner about the implant (and emphasize to my partner that I still get full arousal and have a shitload of libido - which is why I chose to get the implant in the first place!).

I appreciate this response big time. Seems like one of those things I’m going to have to feel out. Practice it. And of course with certain woman I will likely just reveal it so I don’t have to worry about it.
Just want to have the option to be discreet. Biggest concern is the classic pump noise.

Re: Single life with implant /concerns
My (Coloplast Titan classic) pump doesn’t always make noise. But when it does it’s only the first few pumps (first 5 or 6). If I want to be discreet (meeting a hook up for sex) I just squeeze those 5 or 6 pumps in before I arrive. At that point my penis is thick and full, seems like 1/2 mast, but still discreet and stowable in my pants.
I’ve also briefly excused myself to the bathroom (a normal thing to do) and put in those first few pulls before coming back out.
It’s not super loud either. I can pump with the pump squeaking, and background music, moaning, or bedroom talk will cover it up.
Distracting them works well too. Do those first few pumps while you are going down on them (oral) moaning a bit as you do. They won’t hear the pump.
All that to say, there are easy solutions to keep someone from hearing the pump and remaining discreet.
