Re: Implant failure
Quick update. Hakky couldn't get me a video consult til end of April so who knows how long after that he had an opening for surgery. I reached out to Dr. Taj in Mclean, VA, a good friend went to him for his Himplant and he does 3 piece implants fairly regularly. He not only got me a video conference with him same night I called, but he can get me in for surgery on March 31st. I didn't want this stretching out til the summer so I am going to go ahead and get this done with him. He is planning to use the Titan. He interestingly said he removes a lot of defective Rigicon implants and he said he feels the Titan is way more reliable than the Rigicons. I'll trust his word on this.
52 yrs old. E.D. issues started around age 35, combo venous leak/testicular failure. Bilateral testicular implants for severely atrophic testes. Implanted 6/11/20 Dr. Kramer LGX 21cm + 1.

Not an Aussie. I flew from New Zealand to have my implant done by Dr Love. Mine was a complicated case 9 years post prostectomy, Peyronies plus lots of proximal fibrosis. I had the Titan implanted for these reasons so I can't comment on the Rigicon. However I can highly recommend Dr Love as an excellent surgeon. It's pretty easy to organise a video consult with him through his website. Why don't you just speak to him directly and form your own opinion?
66yrs. Radical prostatectomy 2017. ED last 3yrs. Mild Peyronies Jan 2025. Used RestoreX pre-surgery with great results. Titan Classic 20cm Nov 2025. L 7in, G 4.5in first inflation. (Small loss from youth but big gain from ED days)

Re: Implant failure
Hi OregonStrong,
Sorry to hear about your experience. I know what it feels like: my Titan broke down in October, after only 4 ½ years. It was very much the same way you describe it: the bulb stayed flat after just a few compressions. (Eventually, it stayed flat after the very first compression.) This was in a gay club at the tail end of my daylong 60th birthday celebration, which I intended to top off with some raunchy fun.)
As for what size you will get if you switch to Titan: I think only your surgeon can tell you that.
But regarding the pump, I’m actually in a position to compare the Classic and the OTR, because I’ve had both: first the OTR and now the Classic.
Usagewise, there’s not much of a difference to me. I know that the point of the OTR is that you’re supposed to be able to press the release button just once, and then it should keep deflating on its own – but that always seemed to be a very slow process. When I wanted to deflate, I usually pressed the button with one hand and squeezed the shaft with the other. So I was deflating the OTR the same way I now deflate the Classic.
The Classic is supposed to be noisier when you press the bulb, but my experience is that both the Classic and the OTR sometimes make a squeaking sound, and one doesn’t seem louder than the other to me.
Finally, there is the question of how the pump feels to an unknowing partner who fondles your balls. Both pumps have a rubber ball that is much stiffer than any testicle, but the OTR has an additional give-away: a release block with squared-off corners which is instantly identifiable as a manmade object. The release block on the Classic feels just like a little lump on top of the bulb; it does not feel at all as artificial.
Assuming that the Classic is also less prone to early failure, as Dr. Eid says, then I would definitely recommend going with the Classic.
Best of luck with your revision surgery!
