It suuuuuuuuuucked but I figured it out and made it work. I second all of Duke’s recommendations + what others are saying here. You should be okay!

Thanks bud. Appreciate hearing from someone who did it solo.

For that reason, it would be a good idea to have an oral laxative in the medicine cabinet just in case it’s needed.

I think you’ll find minimal need for opioid painkillers, you’re just going to feel pretty sore for a couple of weeks, and then the soreness will decrease a bit every day over the next few weeks until horniness overcomes soreness! ( I was at 4 weeks post op)

The most important thing: buy 4 bags of frozen peas so that as ones thaws, you’ve got an immediate replacement. I had them on my crotch 24/7 and that’s how I recovered quickly and needed no opioid meds past the first couple of days.

You’re going to love how things turn out!

Appreciate it so much. I too look forward to the part where the hormones takes over.

I had my husband take care of me after my surgery. While it felt great being pampered, I would have been able to take care of myself, with proper preparation. I agree with duke that you probably won't feel like cooking the first few days, and definitely not having to go grocery shopping, so stock up or get a meal plan.

That being said, I agree with GoodWood that hiring someone (not an RN; just a home aide) to be with you at least through the first night is probably money well spent. Some guys have more issues post-op and some have less. You don't know what your case will be like before you're there.

Informing your friend also sounds like a great idea. You might not need him, but it's good to know that there is someone you can call if you do need help with something.

Best of luck with your surgery and recovery!
