Post-op VED use?

Postby MissionInflatable » Tue Mar 17, 2026 12:08 am

I'm curious to hear of any experiences/practices from anyone who used (or still uses) a VED AFTER they have had a penile implant?

I've only recently started to experiment with a VED at 12 months post op. Pre op I had used one aggressively to recover size lost from ED/atrophy, as well as for sex. My surgeon wasn't keen earlier in my recovery and didn't want me using one in case of damaging something.
But I had a regular post RP/PSA consult with him recently and he agreed that I can use the medical grade one I have, with care.
So my first attempt with it was uncomfortable, as my implant tubing wraps around at the base of my shaft on the right.
It put too much downward pressure on that location. I tried readjusting things etc and that helped a bit.
But I then ordered an Osbon Erecaid 1 inch Scrotal Shield. That put a soft extra layer between me and the base of the pump.
Its main purpose is to stop your balls being sucked into the tube but I'm also using it for overall comfort.
Second time I still had some "pinching" at the base but it was definitely better. I will continue experimenting when I have time.
This is additional to my regular cycling. I partially inflate the implant before inserting my dick in the tube and only pump the VED moderately to get some visible stretch. I've only done 2 x 10 minute reps each session so far. I plan to amp things up, but slowly and carefully. I've invested too much in my implant to jeopardize it.
71, married, Sydney Oz. PC/nerve sparing RRP Mar 22 then profound ED. Tried pills, Trimix inj, focal shockwave, VED.
Implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal. Back to 6.5" BPEL @ 9m.
Recovery great but have a bend.

Thanks, LGX, very interesting.
My main concern is obviously damaging the implant in any way.
I texted my urology nurse, and she said a VED is fine after an implant, but to ensure the pressure is not too great and that it is "a great way to maximise length combined with cycling". So, I'll give it a go.
I have a Calexotics pump, which I purchased about three months before implant. I could feel a real stretch when using the pump before implant, which is something I don't feel when cycling. I expected to feel that same stretch when cycling; I can pump to a max, do a Perito exercise, then get another pump in, but don't feel that 'stretch'.
What medical grade pump do you have?
I'll definitely get one of those scrotal shields you mentioned - didn't even know they existed. That was the most uncomfortable thing for me when using the pump - the feeling of balls being sucked in! Now with an expensive implant and associated tubing and connections, I don't want to risk any damage.
Did your doctor recommend partially inflating the implant before using a VED? I'm wondering what difference that makes?
Thanks again for your insight, very helpful.

You probably won't get as much stretch with your Titan as its rigidity is a feature, but I would still have expected to feel some stretch from cycling as all implants have some level of elasticity. My concerns have been much the same re VED use.

I have a Vacurect device with multiple (I think ten) different sized sleeves that double as constriction rings (cock rings). That is part of the principle it uses to operate.

Doc hasn't given me any instructions at all, I found that protocol through my own research. In general he isn't a great advocate for VEDs. He told me several years ago that he stopped recommending them to patients as an ED treatment because many complained that they found them too uncomfortable. But he knows that I used one regularly pre op for a long time, and I guess he trusts that I won't do anything stupid.

I discovered that Osbon has a local outlet in Australia and the scrotal shield arrived within a few days. There are two sizes, I ordered the larger 1 inch. I don't think my implanted and partly inflated dick would fit through the hole in the smaller size. It's essentially just a wide flat silicone "donut".

I also have a cheap sex toy pump much the same as the basic Calexotics ones. I haven't tried using that but I don't think it would be any more risky. I would be careful regardless of which device is used.
