Inflatable Vs. Malleable Implant

Postby MarcL97 » Wed Mar 18, 2026 11:19 pm

In the near future, I will be getting an implant. It will most likely be an inflatable but could be a malleable depending on circumstances which the surgeon (i.e, Eid) will determine while I'm in the OR. I've only talked to men who have received an inflatable and I think I understand it pretty well.

As far as the malleable:

For those who have one, isn't it hard to conceal having an erection when you are not pointing the device "up" for penetrative sex?

Doesn't it feel strange to always be erect?

If anyone can answer on this forum or PM me, I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks.

Hey Marc - with the malleable, it’s not as easy to conceal as the inflatable obviously since the malleable is always semi-rigid. I’ve found a pretty reliable way to do it with mine by just wearing higher rise trousers + compression boxer briefs. This gets me most of the way there!

The inflatable will make you a “shower” too, and guys do have to sometimes strategize a bit more to reduce the bulge. But overall is a bit more easy and comfortable with inflatable I imagine!

For guys who have larger penises, I can imagine the malleable could be a bit more tricky. I’m on the smaller side of average at around 5-5.25 inches bone pressed.

In addition, I have the Rigi10 malleable. I am still early on (about 2 months) so I’m still giving myself a full year to evaluate, but right now I kind of wish I’d gone with the Coloplast Genesis malleable because of the better bendability. The Rigi10 has been marketed as being a more rigid than the Genesis - but to be honest, I’m skeptical. And the other thing about the Rigi10 is that the marketing pushes the idea that it can be bent 135 degrees. This is true, but what they don’t tell you is that with spring back, the 135 degrees bend doesn’t really matter. The implant will likely rest at 4 o clock position naturally. It’s allegedly supposed to get closer to 5 o clock with continued bending, but only time will tell! This is why I have a feeling the Genesis is actually the superior implant: it has the absolute best bend of the malleables for stowage, and I’d wager the rigidity from a functional standpoint is absolutely on par with the Rigi10. Any marginal additional rigidity I don’t think is worth the trade on bendability.

Also - I’m happy I went with the malleable so far. It fit my lifestyle and what is important to me from the implant. I’m not opposed to getting an IPP one day or if the MPP doesn’t work out, but went the MPP route to see if the similar device will get me what I’m looking for.

It absolutely did for the first 4 weeks, and still does from time to time. But mostly, my brain and body are starting to adapt. When I’m chilling around my apartment in loose shorts, I forget it’s there  when I throw on some nice clothes to hit the town, I’m a bit more “aware” of it still and am slightly anxious about “can people see a bulge? Do people know” etc but it’s a bit irrational and excessive. It’s just because I’m still getting comfortable with it and adapting, honestly.
