Anyone lost or regained size after revision?

Postby str84wd » Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:23 am

Hello,

I was implanted 2 years ago and after a year my bulb started to go flat and only pump almost 50% below what i used to do.

My Dr. Said that its a failure that requires revision only when it completely stop working since i was / still able to get it hard and penetrate.

i lost size noticeably around after sticking to almost pumping half way through for almost a year an half now!

Question: would i still lose size after the revision or it could be regained??? I am worried about going through revision as my initial recovery was PAINFUL and also worried about losing size!

str84wd, sorry to hear about your situation. Have you used VED to help with maintaining size ? If not that might be a good option to discuss with your Dr while considering your options.

Thx, for your reply. No never used VED and honestly not a fan specially post implant!

Wondering if revision will result in further loss in size or in fact it could help regain the losses!

Im no expert but I say get another opinion from a high surgeon doctor. Thats like a mechanic saying to ride a flat until the wheel falls off. Are you mobile? Yes but youd be doing major damage to the car. Same concept applies here.

Agreed! Yet, i was hoping to here from men here who went through the revisions if they saw a difference in size gain or loss post the first surgery!

This question was asked before, but for what i remember, majority had no difference, not better and not worse. Even if they got bigger implants.

I remember one exception of someone who got a bigger implant, switching from AMS to Titan, but he got more girth and less length. Probably the same tissue was just expanding more towards girth with the girthier implant and removing length.

Yes I regained to what I had originally. First implant I lost length about 1.5 inches. Second revision gained some length about .5 inch, but the pump only lasted nine months, so I had to have a third revision. This time I went to a different surgeon and he done an excellent job giving me back the full nine inches I used to have. This was like five years ago I had the third revision and it has been working perfect.
age: 75 First implant around 2001, 59 at the time. AMS 700 Ultrex
revision Dec 2016. 2ND implant 21CM, 1rte AMS 700 LGX MS pump

Thnanks for sharing Ray. Were your implants all LGX? and the only difference was each revision gave you a bigger size implant? or was there any other diference?

I think it depends on your situation - whether you had scarring, whether you were able to cycle before the capsule forms inside the body, etc.

If you see a high volume surgeon generally they are going to be able to increase size by 2 cm with revision just with cycling after a period of time. Once again they may need to cut the capsule to initiate the stretch again.
62 year old, ED+PD, Coloplast Titan 22 cm no RTE in 2019 with Dr. Irwin Goldstein => failure, now with plaque excision/tunical expansion to Coloplast Titan 26 no RTE in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel, now with classic pump 2024 :D
