Hey guys, did you do any Perito exercises after the surgery? How do they work and what does "cycling" mean?

No, I was specifically told by my surgeon and the Boston Scientific Rep at my 6 weeks follow-up not to do the Perito exercises. I think those are specifically for the Titan implant as I think Perito primarily implants the Coloplast Titan.

Since you are in Germany, I'm assuming your date signature of 03.02.2026 means Feb 03, 2026, not the American style date of Day/Month/Year which would translate to March 02, 2026.

Cycling is the process of inflating your implant every day for a period of time, then deflating. If your implant was this month, you wouldn't be cycling yet. If your implant was in Feb, you should be cycling unless your doctor told you otherwise for some specific reason. Cycling is very important for stretching and scar tissue control. Right now, I inflate at least twice a day for a minimum of 30 minutes. Both doctor and Rep recommended that as a minimum for the next several months. Rep said I could go longer if it was comfortable.

If your doctor didn't recommend cycling, I would contact him/her and ask why.

All the best in your recovery.

No exercises, no cycling here. I did not know about these after my implant, never instructed by my surgeon and had not found Frank Talk. My 6 week follow up, cleared for sex and docs instructions were "Go use it". At 5 months post I found FT, started cycling, saw very very little gain after 3 months and I gave up.
However, after being cleared for sex until 6-8 months out I inflated almost every day for one thing or another.

1sfman describes cycling fairly well. In an industrial setting. A cycle is how long for a machine to perform its repetitive function. So inflating your implant waiting for a period of time then deflating would be one cycle. My dr had me "cycling" my implant three times a day. Thus three cycles a day.

First that I read of the Perrito exercise was it was to be used to prevent the implant cylinders from adhering to your penile tissue. Thus resisting getting the stretching of the cycle.

In my case, just a few pumps into the cycle there was no way to bend my penis at an angle. It was just too hard. Thus I concluded that I wasn't having a problem with adhesions so I quit trying the exercise.

Yes Chris. Advised by my surgeon to do it at least twice a day when cycling the implant (pumping it up for about 15 minutes then deflating it).
My doc uses a variation of the Paul Perito version. I bend as far as possible and hold in each of N S E W directions for 20 to 30 seconds. I do that 2 or 3 times each session. Early on I asked him what might help to regain my length and he said to focus on holding in the downward position.
I'm back to my pre ED length, so I assume it has had some benefit. Very difficult to prove that though.
As you can see there is a lot of variation on advice and protocols around this and whether or not to do it.
Always go with your own doc's instructions regardless of what I or anyone else have been told to do.
