Here are the lists of centers of excellence that the mfgs use listing the high volume physicians..

This is the AMS site

https://www.edcure.com/us/en/find-a-specialist.html

Here is the Coloplast site

https://www.coloplastmenshealth.com/find-a-physician/

Edit: I would also choose one near me in case there are complications as others have said on here.

Clearly, I was not using the right search terms. I’m finding a wealth of information thanks to you all.

Thank you!

While I think you're absolutely right about looking for a surgeon who performs these surgeries frequently, that's not possible everywhere.
For example, in my country, I don't have many choices. There's only one hospital in the Netherlands that truly has a specialized outpatient clinic for men's health, and only that hospital performs these surgeries in the Netherlands in a way that my insurance could cover.

So I didn't have a choice, and my surgeon only performs one implant a month, which also explains the rather long waiting list (I had to wait 2.5 years before it was my turn).

However... Despite his relatively few surgeries, I was healed enough to start having sex after 18 days, and now I'm completely cleared after four weeks. I don't even need to come back for checkups.

So, I'm sure it's good to consider a surgeon's experience with these surgeries, but it's not the be-all and end-all.

Implant is the AMS 700 LGX. Very happy with that.

Gymbeau, call and see if these docs will take Tri-Care.

Dr Taj (Kambiz Tajkarimi, MD) is a high volume doc near you. You should definitely consider him.

If a short flight to NYC is possible I don’t think there is anyone better than Dr Francois Eid.

You might be surprised that they will. I had my implant done when I was 63, so Medicare wasn’t involved. When I turned 65, I’m now Tri-Care for life and Medicare.

I didn’t have to pay a dime for my implant when I was Tri-Care Prime.

San Diego California here. I want to add Dr. Darshan Patel in San Diego! Scheduled for surgery later this month and >200 implants/year of both AMS and COloplast.

I met with Dr. Goldstein - there's no way he still does 200+ a year, his practice is niche and now doing much more female sexual issues.

The physician finder sites paint with a very broad brush. I've put together a more targeted list based on input from a surgeon who performs 200+ implants a year. This might also help if you don't want to travel far to one of the superstar mega-volume surgeons.
