Cleared for sex today. Have whirlwind of thoughts, concerns, and excitement after first masturbation post-surgery.

Hey everyone - I have a dedicated journal I’ve been updating but this was a big milestone for me and I wanted to make a specific thread for it + invite thoughts and opinions from the wider brotherhood - both our MPP and IPP brothers.

So here’s the update. Everything is coming along pretty great overall in my recovery from my Rigi10 MPP surgery, and I had my 6 week follow up with Hakky today. Long story short, he cleared me for sex. So naturally, within about 10 minutes of the call ending, I had already grabbed lube + condoms, and a sex toy masturbator and was ready to rock. Who can blame me? I’ve gone six weeks without any kind of release and my libido has been out of control.

First of all - it was amazing realizing that I didn’t need to maintain my erection. At all. It was just there, and I could just relax and focus entirely on pleasure.

Now - onto the good and not so good. We’ll start with the later.

Not so good #1 - pain: even using lube and a condom, I did find I’m still VERY sensitive in areas around the glans and underneath the glans / in the distal areas. I’m definitely still healing, and I found there were some “hot spots” that were painful when entering and slowly thrusting into the masturbator. Even though I was going very slow. However - I eventually found a rhythm and weirdly, certain hot spots went away.

Not so good #2 - buckling: this is the one that really bothered me. Now - I KNEW when I chose the MPP that it was not going to be as rigid as an IPP. This was a risk I was well aware of. However - I’m still bummed to report that with the masturbator, there was some buckling when initially entering. I found that I really needed to stabilize the base when going in. Once inside, things were totally good. But I have to admit, that it actually did remind me of some of my challenges with my natural erection pre-implant while having ED, and that sucked. But to be fair, there’s a few factors that could be amplifying the issue at this stage. 1) although I straightened the hinge out as best I can, I couldn’t get my MPP hinge COMPLETELY straight. I recognize that even a slight bend here could possibly influence a little bit of buckling feeling on entry. 2) the masturbator itself. It’s a tight device. Even with lube, it’s probably tighter than ANY natural vagina. 3) this was literally my first time using my MPP, and I’d like to believe that I’m also just going to need to do some learning. What works, what doesn’t. Etc.

The pain I was expecting. The buckling I was not, and it sucked. When I started posting about my MPP surgery I promised I’d be transparent about the good and the bad of it - and I feel I’ve definitely been that way so far. In the interest of transparency, when I felt the buckling, I was hit pretty hard by a feeling of anxiety, a bit of frustration, and the feeling that I’d made the wrong choice. Being completely honest here, and only time and additional experience is going to tell. But let’s end this on a high note.

The good - I was able to orgasm and have plenty of sensation: I’m numb around my incision site and I expect that to SLOWLY heal over the next year. But even with that - and EVEN with the pain I was feeling - I eventually hit a rhythm, relaxed, and next thing I knew I came harder than I have in years. Seriously. Years. I was absolutely shocked. It was an absolutely glorious orgasm. The fact I haven’t masturbated AT ALL in six weeks is a key factor here too  . But honestly, I think a part of me eventually was able to relax during all of it in a way that I haven’t really been able to before because of my venous leak - even just during masturbation. And that played into it too.

So all in all - my takeaways: I’m worried about the bucking. It really upset me and honestly pissed me off. But I’m hoping that some of that is just related to the reasons I listed above, and I think I need to get used to the MPP. I’m grateful I have plenty of sensation and was able to orgasm - I recognize that’s a gift especially this early on in my recovery. Lastly - I’ll admit I’m actually a bit nervous about actual sex with a partner. There’s a few old FWBs in the area I’d love to connect with again, but I’m going to give myself another week or two of healing first, because I do think I need to take things slow, get more accustomed to the MPP, and not overdo it.

Anyhow, curious on perspectives from the brotherhood. Thank you all for the support and community here.

Thank you for sharing your experience, JB. I'm glad your neural pathways for orgasm are still well preserved.

Did your health insurance plan cover your surgery? What was your copay like, if you don't mind me asking.

With implant, I think management matters far more than the device type.

With MPP, good management might involve planning an IPP upgrade in the future for some. Everyone's anatomy is different and we can only known by trying once.

IPP lasts some years but eventual breakdown is normal and must not be frowned upon. Best management here is replace with a fresh new IPP. Revision is routine, low-risk, and highly successful with high volume surgeons.

Smart planning and management is the key and will ensure decades of reliable happiness for us.

With Hakky, I think you're already in the best of the best hands!

Appreciate the reply my friend! My implant was mostly covered with my insurance - all in (including airfare, hotel, surgery, etc) I came in just north of $10K total. I stayed in town for awhile too so that added up.

I do think there’s a possibility of an IPP one day later in life for me, depending on factors like atrophy or just if I decide I’d like to take that plunge. Theres a lot of things that ultimately drew me to the MPP, and I’m so early on with it and honestly am surprised at the speed I’m adapting to it.

Ultimately - my gut is STILL telling me that in the end, I’m going to love my Rigi10. Every week since surgery, there’s been a new challenge and I’ve documented them for myself in great detail - and every time I’ve managed to figure out how to turn a corner. A great example is recently, trying to figure out how to CONCEAL the damn thing. I was really worried that I wasn’t going to figure out how to bend and properly conceal it. But with experimentation and a bit of patience, I managed to figure something out that works for me very well - and it really only took me a couple weeks to get there.

Now, my next challenge is the big one - how to adapt to this implant during sex and take back my sex life. But my gut is telling me - even though this first masturbation experience wasn’t “perfect” (I didn’t expect it to be), that I’m going to figure it out like I have everything else :D

Thanks again for reading and your thoughts!

Congrats on the milestone! I remember that first time masturbating very well. “Hey! Everything still works!”

I can’t give you any of the advice you are looking for, as I know nothing about MPPs. But I suspect like us guys with IPPs it’s mostly a matter of time and adjustment to get everything to work the right way.

The best is yet to come!

Be well,
Leto
