Pump position

Postby Nostori » Thu Feb 26, 2026 12:55 am

My pump is way too high. I don't know what went wrong. The doctor says he can do a revision cause it is under warranty for 7yrs. He would do it for less. But I had to get a loan to do the first surgery. I don't have more money for another one now.
Mine is high and to the left. It's this the place yours sits and I am wrong about the placement?

Hi Nostori, is`nt the placement of the pump a dr. responsibility, how comes it is so high up, are the lines to short?
I also dont understand how the warranty kicks in here if the pump is functioning just misplaced.
You better get a second opinion if it is necessary with a revision and it turns out it is anyway the dr.s fault you should not pay anything.

The pump for my AMS 700 LGX is also very high, and besides, it's also attached to part of my scrotum.
I've been told I can try massaging it, and if it then detaches from my scrotum (which can take months), I could massage it down a little.

For the first two weeks after surgery, the high position bothered me, but now it doesn't bother me at all and I'm quite happy where it is (almost directly under my penis, high in my scrotum).
My surgeon also told me that for us (Dutch people), the pump is always placed higher because cycling is fairly common in the Netherlands, unlike in many other countries. For that reason, the pump is always placed higher for Dutch people.

The only thing I don't understand is the part about the warranty. Before and during the surgery, the surgeon determines the length of the tubes, and that has little to do with the warranty; it's the surgeon's choice. Just look at the surgeon's manual, which you can easily download. It describes exactly how the surgery works and what they have to do at what time. There are also videos about this on YouTube, so you can watch the entire procedure.

(By the way, I wouldn't do that before your surgery (this for those who still have to go), because it's very bloody and it's much more fun to watch it afterward...)

Implant is the AMS 700 LGX. Very happy with that.

I’m on my second one and both have been as low as possible and still stand straight up with bottom of pum setting on the bottom of my scrotum. The first was kinda in the front and my new one seems to be a little deeper. But I’m only 5 days out from revision, but so far placement seems same. Can’t understand why being Dutch would have anything to do with placement..
