Titan auto filling?

Postby MissionInflatable » Thu Feb 26, 2026 7:31 am

Has anyone with a Coloplast Titan (Classic pump) experienced it leaking fluid back into the cylinders after deflation?
A few hours after a full deflation, I can feel that some fluid has appeared back in the cylinders. The pump hasn't been squeezed.

After deflating the implant do you give yout pump a squeeze or two to seat the valve?

OP’s signature says he has a Titan Classic. “Setting the valve” after deflation or resetting it after it gets stuck isn’t necessary with the Classic pump. It doesn’t have that extra valve in the pump like the OT/OTR or AMS MS pumps have.

The Titan Classic is designed to deflate by squeezing the two deflate bars simultaneously. Mine stops deflating as soon as I release the deflate bars and holds that level indefinitely.

I have the Titan Classic and I get this too. I can deflate to the point it's pretty floppy and I can feel the cylinders crinkling around inside. Then 30min later it will feel more full and round, like a semi-erection. My surgeon filled the 125ml reservoir to 130ml because I have a large anatomy. I assumed the extra fluid was staying in the tubing and ending up back in the cylinders.

Reading this post I'm thinking maybe it's a feature (bug?) in the Classic design. Another possibility is if you have strong abdominal muscles, they could be squeezing the reservoir and pushing fluid past the reservoir's check valve. I'm in pretty good shape so that is a possibility.

It doesn't really bother me, but does make it slightly more challenging to conceal under clothes, exercise in public, etc.

At my most recent follow-up appointment with Dr. Eid, I specifically asked him if there might be a problem with reservoir backflow due to sleeping on it or from abdominal muscles, i.e., doing crunches. He said that it is pretty much impossible to get backflow through the reservoir check valve. I think that what seems like refilling of cylinders is just the fluid that was in the distal portion rebalancing throughout the cylinder after deflation.
