Burning sensation--normal?

Postby HardTimes26 » Wed Feb 18, 2026 7:52 pm

I am 6 weeks post-surgery... and keep having a burning sensation, from top to bottom, and sometimes, on the scrotum. My doc says this is not unusual, and should improve over time. Anyone else experience this? (Luckily, urination does not burn.)

HT26, sorry to hear about the burning at six weeks out. To be honest I can’t recall any mention of something similar here on the forum. Is there only burning? No signs of infection such as swelling, redness or you running a temperature?

Hi, wantokno. Doc examined me today, said everything looked fine. No temperature or unusual redness. It's weird. Still sensitive... a baby sock helps, but not much.

Hey HardTimes26. Thankfully there is no infection, HalleluYAH for that!
I keep kicking this issue of yours around in my head and the only thing that jumps out to me is that there is a somewhat remote possibility that you are having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic solution/coating used on your device prior to implantation.
I have no other suggestions, I wish you well. And please keep us all updated as to how this works out for you. All the best.

That is an interesting hypothesis. If any allergists are on this forum, I would love to hear their thoughts about a possible allergic reaction, and whether Zyrtec or Claritan might help.

Separately, your bio mentions a pair of revisions. What happened, if you don't mind sharing?

My first revision was done during the Covid shutdown by a highly disagreeable surgeon working out of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. The hoops to jump through and the drama of everything at that time, not to mention the desire to fully function again overruled the red flags that were in front of me.

The morning of the surgery when the surgeon came to check on me before the procedure, I asked him a question. His response was to tell me that if I was going to continue to question him I could just go get dressed and go home. I hate to say it but I bowed to his incredibly unprofessional demeanor and realized that I needed to let him know that I knew he was the boss so I acquiesced. Hell, I even apologized and asked him to please do my surgery. He said nothing and just walked away. I remember looking at the nurse who was next to the bed and saying something about everyone’s under a lot of stress, huh. Shaking her head side to side she agreed that everyone was under a lot of stress.
So what got me there was that my wife and I had fallen asleep while I was inside her spooning from behind. I woke up the next day with one cylinder deflated the other inflated. I tried pumping was able to achieve a partial erection then I released it and tried pumping it again and there was less fluid and less fluid, etc. etc..
