Lost length after being implanted. Is this normal?

Postby Archetype » Fri Feb 13, 2026 8:19 pm

Few weeks ago I had the malleable implant and since the operation I have noticed significant decrease in length compared to my pre-op stretched length. Is this reversible with time as you go through the healing stages? From what I can read online you don't lose much length, if at all, from having an implant and if you lose it is minimal with much of it coming back with time. Anyone with experience can chip in here as I am concerned that they undersized despite being told that I had no fibrosis with good rods placement.

You got a malleable so most of what you read here is going to be irrelevant to your situation.

An IPP requires a long process to normalize again but yours doesn’t change. It has to be shorter so it isn’t straining against your glans 24/7. That can cause erosion easily.

^^^ this is it. Many surgeons will undersize to mitigate erosion risks as much as possible. Making up lost size is something that IPPs can do with cycling and that’s one of their many big advantages. With malleables your size will be the fixed placed length.

What was your size loss, out of curiosity? I do think surgeon has a lot to do with this. Hakky chose to undersize me about 5mm. Other surgeons do more: 1-2 cm. Some guys have reported they didn’t observe a size loss at all. It all depends on the patient.

You must have confused me with someone else. I never said I have ipp.

I am aware that they undersize you somewhat to avoid erosion but this under sizing is a few mm's not centimetres. Like you I was also implanted on the 20th of Jan. Did you lose any size when comparing to pre op length? I see some guys who say that due to swelling etc. initially you will lose some size but it mostly comes back after a few months. What is your experience so far?

I first lost size due to prostatectomy but my surgeon told me that you don't lose size from having the malleable implant. I was not ready to consider injections so I opted and received the Genesis 11mm 20cm with the knowledge that if I can't stand it I can switch the inflatable down the line. Post prostatectomy my pre-op non bon pressed stretched length was 11.5m or 14.5cm BPSL (I am overweight so quite a bit of pubic fat). After the operation I dropped another 2cm. I was ok with dropping a few mm but not 2cm. Some guys in a malleable group tell me that most of it will come back in a few months time and its too early to judge now. I wonder if this is true?

Right now I don't recognize my dick. I literally got wiped out size wise. I am at a point where every cm of gain matters.

Are you still very swollen? Some guys who are very swollen sometimes present as shorter will the tissue is compressed.

Am I right in understanding that your visible length is presenting as 9.5 cm now? Or your bone pressed length is now 12.5 cm?

I’m in a similar boat in that my bone pressed length (which id been measuring incorrectly and need to correct) is ~13.3 cm (~5.25 inches), but my visible length is just a tad over ~11.5 cm (~4.5 inches).

I think you could expect a few things:

1) maybe some length as swelling resolves.
2) depending on your weight, losing weight could help reveal a bit more length towards your bone pressed measurement.
3) I haven’t measured with any engorgement in glans or urethral area yet - I believe that could lend itself to a little size during sex. This seems very patient dependent. Some malleable guys indicate that they actually do get some decent gains during sex.

I am not sure if am still swollen because there is also internal swealing.

You are basically where I was before I lost length from the implant. Now visible length is 9.5 cm and bone pressed length is 12.5 cm.

Did you also lose length from the operation?

No I really don’t think much at all - Hakky only undersized me 5mm and because I’m on the smaller side to begin with I didn’t notice really much of a change. It was really hard to tell what was going on while doing my initial healing, my swelling was very intense. It wasn’t until recently that I really realized I pretty much didn’t lose any expected size.

My stretched length was 12.7 cm (5 inches). I’m currently losing weight so hoping to get a little bit closer to those 5 visible inches, and I do think I can get there because I’ve got another 35-40 lbs to go on my own weight loss journey. Visible penis size gains has honestly been a great motivator to keep eating right and once I’m healed, get back in the gym a bit lol.

I’d say just stay patient for now while you keep healing. Weight loss will help with visible length. If your girth bugs you, you could opt for Urofill (which I have considered if I find myself unhappy with my girth after fully healing at least 8 months) but Urofill is honestly expensive and then you need to maintain it. Plus, you absolutely need to go to a world class surgeon to have it applied correctly in my opinion (not cheap). The only guys I’ve considered are Hakky and Perito’s clinic, since they have critical expertise in penile implants + deep respect of proper infection protocols.

At 5 inches you are not on the smaller size at all. You are basically average.

I am concerned that you didn't lose any length and yet am down 2cm. The difference was immediately very noticeable to me and the ruler confirmed it. Its not as if I had 20cm to play with. I am hoping that worst case scenario I could have a revision surgery.
