ElbowRoom, I’d treat this as a routine aspect of implant maintenance. I hope you have solid private insurance coverage, but try not to stress too much about revisions. We’ve all committed to this bionic upgrade, after all. Worst-case scenario? If there’s an infection, it might involve explantation followed by a VED protocol for rehab, or a temporary spacer rod to preserve length, with a new high-performance IPP in 3–6 months. No big deal, just a little downtime for a lifetime of sex. I know, I’m a total optimist, but what the heck. You’ve got this, and I’m hoping it’s a straightforward fix. You’re incredibly lucky to have Dr. Hakky right there in your corner.

awh geez ER , sending patients and good luck brother.
the best thing about the uros office is getting out of there.
I hate the term rough sex, it implies so much thats not valid and uros use it cavalierly. I was having " rough sex" when my wife flopped backwards with out warning and busted my 7,2 penis in half- thats when it became rough! for the next 15 years.
best of luck buddy.

Well, if it's not rough, is it sex? ;)

Thanks. Yes, revisions are a fact of IPP maintenance. If it happens now I’d be frustrated because I’m 16 weeks from the initial surgery, just finally fully healed up and in a position to enjoy it were it not for this problem. I have used the IPP for sex perhaps six times total. Going straight back to a 6+ week recovery for a revision is just depressing.

Additionally I just met a woman who is phenomenal and could be “the one”. She loves the idea of the implant and all the advantages, but I’m in timeout so we can’t explore that right now. She’ll wait for it to all work out, but I feel bad making her wait any longer than necessary.

It’s just annoying timing.

To be fair Hakky didn’t blame the seroma on rough sex, he just said that could be the reason that the fluid extracted is reddish and not clear. I wouldn’t say I’ve had “rough” sex, but it has definitely been “robust”.

I had a pretty big seroma around the pump as well, look at my journal.

Procedure was done in August 2023, seroma developed around 3-4 weeks after, disappeared on its own around November/December 2023. Before that I asked my sergeon about it and he said we should consider to drain it but only by cutting my scrotum with a small incision, draining with a syringe would be too dangerous (infection, but more because it could damage the device).

But then, again, it went away on its own and never came back.

Very happy with the implant so far!
