Grower vs. Shower

Hi everyone,

I’m currently waiting for my surgery date and feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. I may be overthinking things, but a significant part of my anxiety relates to post-surgical size. I’ve always been more of a “grower” than a “shower,” and I’m curious whether others with a similar experience would be willing to share their perspective.

Were you satisfied with your post-surgery size and overall outcome?

Hey man!

I was a NOTORIOUS grower, not a shower. Seriously. My erect length pre surgery was MAYBE close to 5 inches on a GREAT day. 5 inches was my bone pressed length, at least.

But flaccid? We’re talking 2-3 inches max. Depending on shrinkage, etc

Post implant - I’m much closer to my erect length - 4.5 inches. I also did an MPP and not an IPP.

I am happy with my final size, as with MPP’s it is generally more common to lose some length and girth. IPPs typically clock in much closer to the OG erect size in the long run with cycling.

So all this to say - you’ll go from grower to shower with your surgery.

PEguy, I was a grower.

Now that I’ve had my implant since 2021, I’m a shower, I would say I’m around 5 inches flaccid.

It doesn’t bother me at all. It use to bother my wife because my bulge was obvious to her. I had to wear loose athletic/sweat pants. Dark colors work the best.

Light gray is not good, you’ll definitely stand out with a big bulge with that color.

She also got me longer type shirts to cover anything too! Lol

4 years out now and she hardly says anything about my bulge.

When I pump to the max, I’m 6.25 to .50 bone pressed.

I’ve commented many times on this topic. For the first few months after your able to cycle you feel like your showing and everyone can see it. My wife worried as much or more than I did. So over the next many months you start to get used to it and seems to be less noticeable. After the first year or so you seem to quit worrying about as did my wife.
Looking back, sure things get softer and your able to deflate almost too much so you leave a little juice in there so it looks more normal.BUT!,, I never think about it now and actually it’s just as noticeable as it was the first few months when it seemed to jump out and you think everyone sees it. It’s a LOT more you getting used to the new you on the point that it becomes normal new you! I’ve known guys that were well endowed and showers and they always showed and nobody ever thought anything about it. It was what he normally was and never knew any difference. So it’s simply getting used to what you have as a shower now. Once you accept it and get used to it, you get past it. Some people it takes a few months others might take a year, or years. I really enjoy the new size I have now and it’s kinda nice not having to stretch it out in cold weather just to take a piss!! lol!

I'm just 3 weeks out of surgery, but an unexpected benefit is it is a lot more comfortable.
I used to have to re-arrange myself multiple times during the day as everything shrank and grew and shrank and grew depending on the temperature, activities etc. Now everything stays comfortably where I put it.

Nobody with an implant is a grower. That has both advantages and disadvantages!

Brother, almost everyone is anxious about implant surgery. I definitely was, but excited at the same time. One of my main concerns was losing size. After prostate cancer surgery I had zero erectile function for 3 years until getting my implant 11 months ago. Early on I had lost size from atrophy caused by the ED/surgery and had to start using a VED to reverse the loss, and for sex as other remedies didn't work for me.

Pre ED I was also very much a grower and had always been that way. I really wanted to restore both my pre op size and erectile function equally. I'm very happy that I have achieved both of those objectives, with bonus. Similar specs to SWorks. I'm now 6.5 inches erect and around 5 inches flaccid. Becoming a significant shower was a nice surprise. I'm probably almost double my original flaccid size. It's now sometimes a problem for concealment and comfort, hitting the toilet bowl etc, but I'll take it ! I never really measured girth but I believe that I'm overall about the same as pre ED, but now have visibly more girth from base to mid shaft. I continue to cycle at least twice a day in addition to sex three times a week, and feel that I might be still gaining, but only a trivial amount. I plan to keep cycling indefinitely, in case I still have some unrealized gains, and to prevent future atrophy.

As ElbowRoom said just about everyone seems to become a shower post implant. For erect length, even if you are shorter initially, most guys seem to get their size back, or very close to it. with healing and cycling. That was my experience anyway. I was 30% erect for the first 6 weeks until activation and cycling started. I was noticeably shorter initially but had done the research, due diligence, pre op VED routine etc, so I wasn't too concerned. After a few weeks of cycling I was close to my original size again.

Overall outcome for me is great. I have on demand erections where I can control the hardness and duration. Sex is fantastic and I now orgasm close enough to 100% of the time. I can basically fuck like a 20 year old on steroids . I do have some residual numbness near my penoscrotal incision scar but doesn't interfere with sensation or climax, and continues to improve with time. I also have some post op curvature, expected to improve eventually, but it's only of cosmetic concern. Functionally everything works as expected or better.
