A New Chapter - Rigicon Infla 10 X - Germany

Good afternoon, I had a Rigicon Infla 10 X implanted yesterday at the university hospital by Professor Dr. Osmonov. It's 22 cm long + 2 cm, with a 110 ml reservoir. After the surgery, it was left inflated to about 30 percent. I'm currently in the hospital with a catheter and a drain for blood. I'm receiving antibiotic infusions and pain medication. I'll be discharged on Friday. I'm from Bonn and will be staying in a hotel until Sunday. My wife is driving me the 500 km back.

Sounds like you are well on your way. Any info you can share about your Rigicon is particularly welcome. It isn’t widely available in the USA yet so lots of interest in it.

Ice packs were the best thing for comfort in those first couple days. Less swelling. Less discomfort.

Take it easy and rest as much as you can.

When you get approval to inflate/deflate let us know what the experience of their pump is. How easy/hard it is to inflate. How the pump feels (does it have blocky squared off edges, or is it primarily round/oval). How easy is it to locate and activate the deflate button.

Thank you so much for your well wishes. Yes, I'll let you know how it goes when I can put it into operation in six weeks. It was successfully inflated to 100% after the surgery. Everything looked good. Now it will remain at 30% for six weeks.

Congrats!:) hoping for a smooth recovery. I myself am getting an infla10 ax here in the us as part of the clinical trial. Would be curious to know your experience. Wishing for all the best and speedy healing!:)

Hi Chris and welcome to the bionic world, wish you a recovery without problems.
About the pump, I have the 10 AX and assume they have the same pump. It's round and very hard in the beginning and to open the valve I needed help from my surgeon, it has to be pressed hard and keep pressing until the valve opens. I made the mistake to pump but this did not work, and the deflation button is tricky and slippery to catch, it has a flat button on one side and a round on the other side, those 2 have to be pressed together. I really dont know why they could not make to flat buttons which would it make a lot easier to deflate. Once the pump is activated it is ok to operate, still need some pressure but no problem to squeeze.

Take it easy so early in your process I guess it will be servere pain to start inflate/deflate before enough healing.
