So, after 6 months of saving money, I'm finally sitting in YVR airport in Vancouver waiting for my flight to Istanbul where I will be getting the ams 700 lgx implant from Prof. Dr. Baris Nuhoğlu in 2 days time. I'm very nervous, but also excited. But, some of the things running through my head right now are:
Please don't come back with a tiny inflatable dick.
I hope this thing sticks out at the right angle.
What if there's nerve damage?
I hope this thing feels normal to use after awhile.
Please no infection.
I hope my gf likes it.
I hope I get proper after care from turkey to Canada.
I mean I've asked the answers to all these question over the last few months and the support I've recieved has always been positive, but my nerves are still racked. I'm going to update this thread as my travel goes on here. If anyone has advice or support or just wants to follow what this thing entails, here it is. Wish me luck.
Here we go.

Re: Here we go.
We all had similar concerns but I'm sure you will be fine.
Very unlikely you'll come back with a tiny inflatable dick. There is often some initial size loss, usually regained with regular cycling.
Angles can a vary a bit. I ended up around 2:30 pm (standing) and I was probably 2 pm pre ED. Current angle is more than satisfactory for sex.
I don't think permanent nerve damage happens often but temporary numbness is common. I still have superficial numbness in one spot but it isn't a problem and continues to improve.
It takes time but it will eventually feel "normal". It won't be 100% like your natural erection once was, but in my experience so close it doesn't matter.
Yes do keep a close lookout for any sign of infection and report it promptly to your medical team. It is fairly rare but I was paranoid about it for the first month or so, and kept sending photos to my doc of anything that worried me.
Have a good chat pre op with your surgeon to make him aware of any concerns. Hopefully he will reassure you about the expected outcome.
I'm pretty confident that your girlfriend will enjoy your rock hard erection on demand, that stays hard as long as you want, whenever you both want it
.
You are also younger and may find that recovery is faster than average.
Best of luck for your surgery bigkernel

Congrats on making such a big decision and following through. From your signature block, it’s clear you’ve thoughtfully considered your options, and an implant is the solution that makes the most sense in your case.
I had nerves going into the procedure as well, but I’d done my homework, chosen a great surgeon, and knew this was the right decision for me.
You’ve already done the hard part. Now it’s time to relax and let the process unfold. Follow all of your surgeon’s instructions to the letter. If someone here describes instructions that differ from your surgeon’s, always follow your surgeon. They all have different protocols, and sticking to your surgeon’s plan is what matters most.
The best advice I can offer is: ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice your groin for the first three days. It will reduce inflammation, bruising, and pain. Take it easy and rest during those first few days—stay in bed most of the time if you can.
We all hope you have a great experience. It has been life-changing for me, and I couldn’t be happier. No change in sensation, and I was back to my pre-op length very quickly.

You are braver than I would be. Travelling to a different country to have a surgery is scary. How soon after do you plan to return home? It could be a painful trip in the first few days, but since you are pretty young it may not be bad.
I doubt any of your fears will happen as long as you follow the surgeons' instructions. Best of luck to you, and I am 100% sure your gf will love it once you're healed.

bigkernel, congrats on making the big decision and best wishes. Like the guys said above, your concerns are common with all of us and you'll get thru them. In the first several days I asked myself "what the hell did I let them do to me". But having gotten to the other side, I'd let them do it over and over again if needed. Hang in there and we'll be anxious to hear how things are going.
If you're looking for some inspiration I'd recommend the thread below.

Re: Here we go.
I'm returning 8 days after the surgery. Hoping given that fact I'm overal healthy that by that time I should know if there is a complication. I've made it to London with a two hour layover until my flight to turkey. Just trying to keep my wits about me and get through all the steps here. Charging my phone and trying to stay away from the pub I went to here in the airport the last 6 times I was here lol. I also quit all nicotine products and have been drinking lots of water. I'm arriving in Istanbul at 1am the morning of the surgery and heading straight to my room in the hospital to rest before my bloodwork and radiology. Then surgery in the afternoon. I will update this again when I arrive at the hospital in Istanbul. Cheers.
42, Ed 3 years. Oral medication failed, Ved constriction rings failed, injections: 7 failed and 3 priapisms. trt morning erections returned, but I still can't sustain long enough for intercourse. Implant scheduled 01/29/26 Prof. Dr . Baris Nuhoğlu.
