My thinking was that if Hakky can’t bend it tomorrow, maybe it would be best to stay and have another follow up a week out to try again. But you’re right - I think getting home could be very good for me.

Im going to sort of play it by ear tomorrow. If Hakky feels like I’m recovering well enough to head home, I’m going to give it a go.

Day 5 post surgery - evening update:

Popping in to say that today was more of the same. Only comfortable position for me right now is laying down. Standing up and moving around is quite uncomfortable- not just with pressure from the implant on clothes, but also because I’m still getting burning around my swelling and edemas on account of gravity. This goes away COMPLETELY when my penis is pointed towards the ceiling.

I’m also still guarding with my pelvic floor - I suspect a lot of this is correlated with the pain I’m feeling, like my body is “bracing” for the pain. Going to talk to Hakky about it tomorrow.

Again, it’s difficult to not be a bit anxious about my recovery speed. I feel like a part of me was really expecting to be further ahead by now - but again, I’m trying to just stay positive and hope to turn a corner soon!

Day 6 post-surgery - morning:

Well, I discovered last night that the best way to sleep right now is with NO underwear and no dressings on my penis. Then, I pull the bed sheets up to my penis and place another sheet over my chest, so nothing is touching the top of the penis but I’m still comfortably covered up. I figured this out at 3:30 AM when I woke up from the Oxy wearing off, and I really am glad because I was able to fall asleep without popping a second Oxy.

Today, I still have pain and soreness. But I do feel like things are MARGINALLY a little better. Again, I’m not on a rooftop shouting and celebrating  but I think my baseline pain is just a hair better. And I feel like - looking at my penis - the swelling has been slowly improving.

I have my follow up with Hakky today. I really doubt we’ll be able to bend the implant down. But let’s see how it goes. Right now, I’m very much considering staying another week purely because comfort has been so unpredictable. A 2 hour flight + moving through the airport + etc really sounds stressful tomorrow. If things are actually just starting to improve, then I think a few days could make a big difference in my travel comfort.

I’ll give an update later this afternoon.

I might later in my healing process - right now ultra focused on recovery. I’ve taken lots of photos though for posterity.

Day 6 post op - afternoon:

Just got done visiting with Dr Hakky. Appointment went well - nothing stood out as cause for concern. However - one challenge is that we did not bend the implant. Right now, it feels like the torque I would need to bend it down would just hurt too much at this stage in my recovery,

However, generally speaking I’ve been doing okay today overall on the pain scale. Hakky really wants me to start working the implant on my own time once I’m comfortable. I have a feeling that might look more like week 3 or week 4.

Obviously, my anxiety is very high now as a result. Having this deep fear that I’m not going to be able to get the implant to bend!

Hey Richard - really appreciate it man. I keep forgetting that it’s still very early on, and most of the guys who have malleables typically aren’t bending until later weeks anyways.
