2 questions before my surgery

Postby macoza » Sun Jan 25, 2026 10:43 am

Hi guys. I have a rescheduled surgery coming up but I'm not sure of 2 things. So I have 2 questions:

1. Just so you know, my length is 6 inch while my girth is 5.75 inch. Which specific device (AMS or Coloplast) do you feel is better for me?

2. During the night I get wood that lasts a bit and gets hard enough for penetration. The problem is that during the say I don't get hard and I dont have wood. Do you think people in my situation would still benefit to get an implant?

1-Either implant would be fine. Which one does your Dr suggest? I would leave it up to him/her.
2- have you tried pills? Have you tried injections?
I would occasionally get 3am woody but never enough for PIV sex. With pills it worked for many years then it quit so I went to shots that weee always a crap shoot for over a year. Last resort!! Went with implant and only wish I had gone straight from pills to implant. Shots would work 40-60% time but was as bad as ED as it was terribly inconsistent and never knew if it would last or next time wouldn’t go away.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast with Classic pump 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong

Appreciate the reply and support..

My doc does mostly Titan but he said its up to me to choose whichever device.

Yes I've tried pills. They work more in night time but in day time its very difficult. I tried injections... 10 years ago I was able to use just 3 units of trimix to get good erection. I stopped using injections until 1.5 years ago and found to my surprise that I had to use 40 - 50 units. I would get an erection but couldn't find the right dose. I ended up injecting 4 - 5 times in one sitting cuz I didn't know my dose. Its too much for me. The erections were hampered by my nervousness and negative thinking. I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to injections that I'd think they wouldnt work and I'd hurry up my erections in haste.

I think the implant is the way to go for me. And please, let me know your further thoughts.. and if its possible to talk by phone, please let me know too!!!

Your girth is pretty solid so it’s possible you want a titan to keep it, but it depends how much natural thickness you have. If your flaccid is still “meaty” and almost that thick already you would probably be fine with an AMS. In that case, I would just decide whether I wanted a long flaccid or prefer the most natural (and slightly more “grower” style) dick that stows better in clothing.
Oct 7, 2025 - Coloplast Titan XL - Touch pump - 26cm - 0.5cm RTE with Jonathan Clavell. Still sorting out TRT; plan to try a "modified natty" approach without injections.

Back before getting mine I was convinced I wanted a titan which I got. Now after almost 4 years and reading on FT a lot I think either one would have been a great choice. I sought out a Dr that specifically did titans at the time. Now Ive been to see Dr. Clavell in Houston for a revision and he does both. I asked his opinion about changing to an LGX and he said I would not be happy with changing. Also said he would say the same if I had an LGX. Suggested to stay with what I was familiar with. That being said your average size and I guess you don’t have any pyronies disease so either would work. If going with Titan I would suggest the classic pump, it’s smaller and much more reliable. It’s probably been the most bullet proof pump of all pumps on the market.
I had similar experience w injection as you. I went from 5 units to over 60 in a 6 month period and still totally unreliable. When you’re at this point I feel like it’s time for an implant!
My opinion is find the best most qualified surgeon you can find. I’m driving 6-1/2 hrs ea way to use Dr Clavell and if it was further I would fly to use him. My biggest mistake on my first one was using a good… not great surgeon. He claimed to have been doing several hundred a year. Now after consulting with Clavell he says I have impending erosion and was slightly undersized. I had a hernia surgery with mesh about 25 years prior and my surgeon placed reservoir under fascia. Now the thing is protruding out terribly and was placed directly under my belt line and is very irritating. Clavell says he will install a properly sized implant and use a procedure called glansplexia or something like that to anchor tips up in glans so they don’t protrude out the bottom. Also said he will place new reservoir under muscle layer in the middle above my belt line and that it would not show at all! Hopefully all will be as he says and I’ll be totally satisfied with my revision. Scheduled for February 14th so fingers crossed. Will mention that I have zero issues with the function of my implant at all. Just placement of said parts. My opinion is your definitely ready for an implant. Make up your mind, do your research and get the best Dr you can get to. Don’t look back and commit to it. I feel a lot of getting thru the first couple months of recovery and cycling is as much mental as physical. A great attitude about getting it done is key.

In the flaccid state, my penis is smallish. I'm just worried about the bulge when I go to the beach in my swimming trunks.

Rider1400, youre NOT going to believe this... About an hour ago I took a viagra pill of 200mg. Half an hour later I get a good hard on and was able to ejaculate. So right now, I really DO NOT KNOW what to do. I'm VERY CONFUSED NOW.

Then again, maybe the viagra will work once a day and not the next day.

Or do you still think I should go for the implant since it would be more consistent with on-demand sex??

Can you tell me what I should do now?? Looking forward to your words, please.

How old are you? Unless you had some divine intervention….. it’s probably a fluke…. Sometimes my ED was noticeable better in certain positions… seemed to work better if I was flat on my back or sometimes on top was best but no matter what it was terribly inconsistent… give it another try tomorrow or next few days, solo or with partner…. So many factors figure into ED. If I was extremely turned on like if wife surprised me and I wasn’t expecting a come on I could perform ok…. But it was the exception. If shots are failing and pills are inconsistent then there is absolutely no way that you DONT have a blood flow issue(Venus leakage). If it’s time, it’s time. If you’re on the fence it’s not time yet. I was so frustrated that I had zero thoughts about is it time…. When you get to this point you have nothing to loose. Although it has been amazing having an on demand hard on any time you want it! If you’re 55 or older it’s probably time. Get it done right by a top notch surge and get on with your life. I had a very easy recovery but still make no mistake it’s a marathon of a recovery. Weeks with waiting, then many months before it’s completely enjoyable and totally comfortable. I actually in a weird way enjoyed the recovery as it was a journey into my new working life of dependable sex!! Well worth the months of recovery.

Hey Rider1400.. Appreciate your response. So I'm 55.

I'll try another viagra tomorrow to see how that goes.

If I do get an implant I expect to have sex in a month and a half after healing. I'm in no way going to wait many many months, with all due respect.

Someone on this site said that having a natural erection is better than an implant. Is this true? I know its a dumb question but I got to know from your experience.

Looking forward to your response!
