Johnny what kind of pain killers and antibiotics Hakky prescribed ?

He prescribed some Oxy and some other antibiotic, I’ll take a look in a few. He also had me on an IV drip of 3 different antibiotics at the time of the surgery.

Day 2 post surgery - afternoon update:

Constipation: mostly resolved now - stool softeners are a lifesaver. Don’t be afraid to take them after surgery.

Pain: more significant today than yesterday. I believe the nerve block has worn off and so now I’m debating taking an Oxy.

Mentally feeling a bit down today - I anticipated feeling like this post surgery, so trying to just take it easy. Might call a friend or two.

Hey Thisworld - just checked. The antibiotic I was prescribed and am taking post-surgery is Sulfamethoxazole. I take 1 a day for 10 days total.

End of day 2 post-surgery:

Temperature: I bought a forehead scanner from Walgreens and suspect I’m using it right? I keep getting mixed readings though depending on where I scan on my forehead. Some scans 1 inch away from center reads 98.8. But the sides of my head run hotter for some reason and give a reading of 99.6. Aside from that, I don’t have any other weird symptoms that seem to point to infection - no chills, no drainage or unusual pain. But my anxiety is definitely higher after those elevated readings.

Going to try and get some rest now, hoping that I’m reading too much into this. Will update again tomorrow.

I have an IPP, but Hakky prescribed Percocet (which I didn’t take) for pain and Sulfamethoxazole as an antibiotic for me post-op. I think another patient of Hakky mentioned getting a different antibiotic. It’s possible he tailors the treatment to the patient, or just rotates through a few different antibiotics to minimize resistance concerns.

Elbow, how was your pain first week after surgery? I’m on day 3 now and man, the pain has definitely ramped up a bit with the nerve blocker gone.
