Gentelmen,
I have gone back and forth on posting here. I have decided to make this post to help those thart are trying to decide if an IPP is right for you. Its been a little over 5 months and things are great for me. I have decided to post my journey up to my 5 month mark. Like many, my ED started in my 40's. I dont really know when, but I started with pills. When they didnt work, I tried gainswave (save your money). Then I moved to shots. By the time I had my IPP I was doing mass injection with double or triple my Rx for shot and pills at the same time and sex shop pills. All just to get 30 minutes I hoped. The pain after injection was awful and sometimes so bad I could not complete.
I am a Veteran and get my health care from the VA. They cover IPP's, brought in a high volume surgen from New York, Dr. Amend. He was great. I learned so much from FT, this site is so valuable. Look back and read, read, read. I read so much that before my surgury the nurse I was asking questions said to me, you know a lot about this and ask questions no one else ever knows anything about. So I feel I did my homework. I am in shape, work out 5 plus times a week. I think I look good for 57. I have very high libdo, always have. I am also now on TRT.
I am not trying to impress anyone or say what I did or have done you should do. Listen to your Dr. That being said here is my recovery. When I woke, my catheter had been removed, do to distance I agreeded to stay in the hospital for one night. I had a drain that was removed in the morning of my release from the hospital. I never had any pain and only took tylenol after surgury. I was black and blue everywhere, but never had much swelling at all. Color was gone after 10 days
Once home I never had pain. I watched TV, iced and layed around. As I said I have vey high libdo. I was sent home around 50% inflated. At day 4 I masturbated to completion. It didnt hurt and I was horny. My scrotum hurt a little but nothing out of control. I am lucky to have a wonderful wife. We agreeded during my recovery I would do what I could to keep her happy. Day 10 during our foreplay, I was so turned on we had sex. Yes, at 50% inflated. it wasnt great, but damn I was very happy.
My Dr. had told me that I could begin to cycle at 6 weeks. We had a phone appointment at 3 weeks. During that call, I asked him, why some people can cycle at 2 weeks and he was at 6. He said in his experince most men need to heal and 6 weeks seems to be about the right amount of healing time to begin cycling. He told me if I felt healed enough, I could try. So I did. At three weeks I was cycling. I feel I was ready and have not looked back. Currently, when fully pumped I am at about 1:30 pm. I have tried every position and can say I have had no troubles.
As I said my healing was pretty easy. I did have a little trouble with my pump placement. I have learned there at two places they can put the pump. Very far forawrd in the scrotum and in the back and lower. The far forward I was told is for older men and very heavy men. With this placement they are able to reach the pump and release button. For me, I was placed low in the back. I have no problem reaching the pump or release button. My problem at first was sitting and driving. Due to it being low in the back, I would sit on my pump. That hurt, I would need to reach down and pull my balls and pump up when sitting and driving. After 3 months or so I dont even notice it. I would recommend talking with your Dr. about pump placement.
I have been married for over 30 years. Strong marrige and great communication. My wife is also very supportive. We are lifestyle (if you dont know look it up). I had made arrangments for my best friend to come visit at week 4. My thought was to get my wife satisfied during my recovery. I thought by week 8, I would be able to have sex. This was arranged pre surgery. So my half way point. Didnt know at day 10 I would be able to have sex. So at 4 weeks instead of me watching them, we had a threesome. Still not great for me, a little sore, but so nice to be back.
Since 4 weeks I have gotten stronger and healing in my opinion is complete. My wife and I have sex 3 plus times a week as long as we want. I have had two other female partners that had no idea I had an IPP. I have been with them before and they were very happy with the length time I was able to be hard. I also get massages on a regular basis. I do have a girl I have seen for years. She always finishes me with a handy. Funny thing is she found and felt my pump when I was on my stomach. She said oh you got an implant. Roll over lets have fun. I guess she had another customer that had one also. So she didnt mind.
It has been a bit of an adjustment being a shower. As I said I go to the gym a lot. My wife has noticed when I lay on the bench, I really show. I dont care, but it is different. She has told me she has seen men and women looking. Oh well.
So now I am living my best life. I am 1/4 inch longer than I was pre surgurey. My girth is the same, I am hoping for a little more girth. Dr. told me I would gain in girth so still holding hope. My wife loves my IPP and now she likes to pump me up. I also love to hear early morning when she says to me "Pump it up". My advice to others that have ED. Why wait, life is short. Yes there is some pain and you may not recover as fast as I did. But being able to have sex again and know my cock will be hard is such a load off my mind.
I hope this helps some of you and you can get confidence knowing how you can overcome ED. I am willing to answer questions to the best of my knowledge. Good luck to you all.

Hey silkyfox - fantastic to read your story. I’m currently recovering from my surgery (day 2 post surgery) with a malleable, not inflatable. Needed to read something positive with all the soreness and bruising im dealing with today!
ED since high school. Pills always hit or miss, mostly ineffective. Finally diagnosed with venous leak in early September 2025.
Rigi10 MPP 11mm implanted w/ Dr Hakky on January 20, 2026. Recovering.

SilkyFox, that is awesome. Reading journal posts from implanted guys was really helpful while I was getting ready to be implanted. Thanks for taking the time to write yours.

Great update SilkyFox!
I wish I would have healed as quickly as you have! Day 10 sex! I surely wanted to, but it was at 8 weeks for me and it hurt, my dick throbbed with pain for two days!
It’s good for FrankTalk brothers to hear that some guys heal faster and can have sex faster.
I’m a veteran too, I had my implant surgery done at Lackland Air Force Base Ambulatory Surgical Center, San Antonio, Texas (Retired Air Force)
Keep doing great
