Returning to Work Monday – Need Underwear Advice

Postby Nick74 » Sat Jan 17, 2026 12:53 pm

Hey guys,
Starting Monday I’m heading back to work at the restaurant, but taking it easy—just a couple of hours. Still on antibiotics. It’s a little scary since we have an event that day, but I’ll stay on light duty and listen to my body.Any recommendations for supportive underwear for being on my feet most of the time? Please no jockstrapsI really don’t like them
Appreciate any tips.
51 years old. Lived with ED for 20 years.
Pills stopped working. Trimix helped, but injections weren’t sustainable.
Coloplast Titan IPP implanted January 8, 2026 -20 cm.
Grateful, moving forward.

Compression shorts (like basketball players wear under their mesh team shorts) could work well.
Briefs a size smaller might be enough.
Speedo swim briefs could work.
A jock strap over whatever underwear is comfortable for you will work well too.
57yo, NYC. ED started at 40. Pills, then shots for 10 years. 24cm Coloplast Titan XL w/classic pump by Dr Eid 3/25/2025. Will meet for show & tell.

Thank you, brother, I really appreciate the advice. I do have compression underwear and I usually wear briefs, so I’ll stick with those for now. How is your recovery going?

I’m just about 9 months post op. Completely healed and love this thing. It just seems like part of me, normal, and not something I’m aware of unless I need to pull it out at a urinal or something like that.

That’s great to hear, brother. It’s really encouraging knowing that at 9 months out it feels completely natural and just part of you. Stories like yours give guys like me a lot of confidence during recovery. Appreciate you sharing your experience

I started wearing seperatec about 5-6 months in and have been wearing them for over 3 years. I’ve purchased them 4 times and gotten 4 different types. Some are bamboo with little to no support but work great under my supportive jeans. Separate where there’s no skin touching anywhere. Then there’s the cotton which are a little bit more supportive and then there the athletic briefs that give me quite a bit of support! I wear them under my relaxed fit jeans so I still have support. After 5-6 months you won’t care as much about support but will be more concerned with comfort! As you get more used to your new shower it will become just part of you and you’ll stop worrying so much about someone noticing. By 10-12 months you kinda forget about it except when you want to use it or go pee. It does get softer and don’t show quite as much but I really think it’s as much you get used to it being there and just don’t care or maybe just don’t think about it. Good luck in returning to work so soon after! You’ll definitely get sore from the support and it won’t be easy. Hang in there… time will cure all ills!!
