1. Two days post op: started short walks in the park with my dog.
2. A week and a half: an easy hike.
3. 2 weeks: With my surgeons approval, got back to the gym doing lightweight stuff (isolating arms/legs, avoiding increased intra abdominal pressure) and light cardio (rowing machine, elliptical, air dune bike), with a little discomfort but nothing too bad.
4. 4 weeks: back to CrossFit/Olympic lifts, though at 50-60% my normal weights and intensity.
5. 4 1/2 weeks: playing tennis again.
Congratulations, Gringoinparadise. Sounds like you are making terrific progress. When do you anticipate returning to your full workout routine?
Yeah, I feel like I’m ahead of the curve on the recovery, and obviously everyone is unique and needs to go at their own pace and comfort. I’ve always been more about maintaining form over maxing out, so I’m in no hurry to build back up to my pre-surgery weight amounts. Taking the time now to focus on form. I know I’ll build back up in weight eventually over the next few months.
