If any gym rats, skiers, cyclists, hockey players, etc., are reading this... have you been able to fully resume your athletic activities since your implant?
I'm wondering how any of that is possible with a third nut and a reservoir in the gut. Crossovers when skating? Crunches in the gym? A bad hop in a softball game? Lunging for a pickleball?
Can you put the new plumbing out of your mind when exercising?

I was told all sports are fine EXCEPT hard contact or Impact.
(Boxing, MMA, tackle football)
I can't run long distance anymore, but that's because of a hip replacement
Everything else I've returned to.
I hike, Mtn Bike, weight lift, swim etc...
No issues.

Hardtimes, I’m an avid cyclist, riding 100 to 190 miles a week on my road bike.
I thought I would have a difficult time getting back on a road bike saddle with the third brother down there.
Once I healed up I don’t have any problems with cycling with the extra nut down there, it finds its place and there is no discomfort or pain.
I do use road bike saddles that have an opening in the middle of the seat to prevent pressure on the perineum.
I don’t think you’ll have any problem with any sport.

Re: Sports after implant?
I too am a gym/workout addict so that was certainly something that was hard to navigate, getting back to my normal routines. My progress so far…
1. Two days post op: started short walks in the park with my dog.
2. A week and a half: an easy hike.
3. 2 weeks: With my surgeons approval, got back to the gym doing lightweight stuff (isolating arms/legs, avoiding increased intra abdominal pressure) and light cardio (rowing machine, elliptical, air dune bike), with a little discomfort but nothing too bad.
4. 4 weeks: back to CrossFit/Olympic lifts, though at 50-60% my normal weights and intensity.
5. 4 1/2 weeks: playing tennis again.
The things that seem to bother me are jumping and running, with the bouncing of things down there still being uncomfortable, even doubled up on compression shorts. Overall it feels like I’m healing up well and I imagine things will continue to get better. I’m planning to go skiing in a month and a half, so hoping things are more or less back to baseline by then.

Re: Sports after implant?
I'm 2.5 months post-implantation. It's been 10 days since the snow fell and the ski trail was groomed, and I've been cross-country skiing almost every day. So far, 15 km. No problems. When skating on cross-country skis, my legs are always pointed in different directions. I don't feel the implant at all. Also, a week ago, I ran my first 5 km after surgery. It was difficult, but that's because I had a long and difficult recovery period, and besides, I got really sick with the flu a month after the implant. Overall, the implant doesn't interfere with my running. We'll see how it goes over longer distances. Besides that, I also train on a road bike, like an S-Works. I only just now realized why it has that nickname
When spring comes, I don't even know how I'll get back on a road bike with all this equipment. You'll definitely need a special saddle with a hole in the middle. But even with it, it's hard to imagine how I'll travel. The most uncomfortable thing about exercising with an implant is the Coloplast Titan implant model itself. It's truly very uncomfortable in every way. And the biggest problem for me is the inability to hide it in my usual sportswear, because for cyclic sports my clothes are all tight. While it's winter, I can hide it in ski pants and so on, but it's still a little visible. I don't know what I'll do in the spring and summer. I'm even thinking about switching to an AMS. Because with the Titan, I can't even lie down normally on my stomach. My cat lies on me, and if he lays on my implant with both paws, it causes pain, since the Titan material is very hard. So if you're an athlete, I categorically do not recommend Coloplast. But as for sex, it's a real killing machine. I had a chance to test it out the other day. This girl was incredibly impressed, and the neighbors were simply shocked! She says she's dreamed of sex like this her whole life and still writes to me every day.
38, Active, athletic, marathon runner. Clipped after vein ligation. Tried embolization, wich not help. Long time choosing between CX and Titan. I ended up getting a Titan One-Touch 22 cm with a 1 cm RTE right. Before implant 6,4/6,3; after 5,8/?

This is encouraging, AntonS, because I love cross country skiing and hope to get back on skis before winter is over. And special thanks for your observations re: Coloplast. My surgery is tomorrow, and based on your observations and others, I think AMS will be my choice. Continued success in your recovery!

Thank you, SWorks. I enjoy road- and mountain biking. We'll have to see about the mountain biking going forward. Sounds like you get used to that third nut after awhile? From most comments on this forum, guys suggest it's a worthwhile tradeoff to regain sexual function. I am about to find out. Surgery is (gulp!) tomorrow.

Greetings from a fellow prostate cancer survivor, HikerMan. How long after your implant did it take to fully regain your athletic stamina, particularly weights? I have been in fairly reasonable shape and was contemplating returning to huff-and-puff hockey...no checking but plenty of bumping. Wonder if a standard athletic cup would offer enough protection (or even fit over the extra nut)?

Good luck to you and your surgeon! Everything will be fine! Don't worry, and remember that recovery is just as important as the surgery itself. Which model did you choose? LGX or CX?
