If you’re one of them, I have a question: if you could go back and do it again, what would be the threshold you would use for deciding when to get your implant, as opposed to the one you DID use? Would it have gotten you the implant “ten years earlier”? How would that have impacted your life, besides the obvious?

I only had ED symptoms for 3 years, and that was far too long. After my prostatectomy, which caused the ED, I was told I had a good chance of regaining normal erectile function. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was 100% limp 24/7 from day one and not one iota of natural function ever returned. My hopes started to fade after 12 months, but I kept being told it can take a couple of years or more. So I persisted with conservative treatments that were basically next to useless. It was devastating both physically and psychologically. In hindsight I should have gone straight to an implant after 12 months. I've already had sex three times this week, been 100% erect for more than an hour each time, ultimately having intense orgasms after a lot of pleasure :D. It has also given me a lot more personal confidence, not only sexually.
So yes, if I did have ten years to reverse I would do it!

I wish I had never even heard of them. I know a lot of guys swear by them and have good long term results. But for me it was the worst thing I ever did and they have caused more problems than they solved. They only worked briefly, maybe for 6 months, then didn't. I had a lot of scarring/fibrosis build up from injecting and eventually couldn't get an erection whatsoever from them.

I'm also concerned that any future, repeated revisions will carry a higher infection risk, reportedly in the double-digit percentages.

A couple things... first off I'm pretty sure the double digit risk does not apply if you stick to one of the top surgeons, and there are honestly dozens of high-volume folks now.

Also, sensitivity is something that can be regained. Are you fucking at 100% max inflation and does it still ache in the tips? Try 80%... when fucking and keep cycling until you are stretched out. Is your glans filling up? If not, use a silicone ring behind the balls just tight enough to fluff up your glans. When you find the balance between too loose and irritating, they do work.

Couldn't agree more.
All complications reduce to < 1%, if you seek a high-volume dedicated implanter. This is your secret sauce.

I went from pills to BIMIX to TRIMIX to implant. If I had it to do over, I would have taken 6 months to a year of total deprivation (no pills/injections) to be completely sure that a reset was not possible, with respect to the tolerance to these chemicals.

The implant can be the correct solution, but it is a measure of last resort because it forever removes all other options from the table. This site is a goldmine of useful information...but it is very biased towards the implant. If you spend any time on this forum, you can quickly come to believe that the implant is the only "real solution", and all other things are "workarounds", and that the implant is a one-and-done.... set-it-and-forget-it, miracle....and all other solutions involve a lifetime relationship with doctors and pharmacies and chemicals and needles. This is an oversimplification.

As for myself: I would give anything to be able to go back to BIMIX, so I can't emphasize enough that I think one should give other remedies several tries before dismissing them. I could say the same for pills, if they have the potential to work for you. (this goes for anyone who gets ginnned up here, into jumping immediately to an implant before trying other solutions)

I'd have avoided a serious medical problem got worse by meds like viagra, my arteriosclerosis and nearly a thrombosis of the left Carotis artery, that caused a mini-stroke, where I got a stent 12/22.

How would Viagra—a vasodilator—contribute to a mini-stroke? This is a serious question; I’m intrigued.

I tried Cialis ONCE—it dilated my left pupil and limited the hearing in my right ear. Fortunately, these sides were temporary. It also gave me some of the worst stomach pain I’ve ever experienced.

It's very simple.
If you have preexisting heart diseases and/or you take nitrates, viagra can decrease blood pressure, that ca trigger a stroke, especially like in my case, having arteriosclerosis, where the blood flow is decreased already. In my case I had repeated temporary eye flickering, just for minutes and I didn't put much attention to it, as I'm a doctor myself (we never go to another doctor) and thought, OK, it seems nothing serious and waited for about 1/2 a year, until one day I got it again and it didn't go away, I was blind on my left eye and also my left leg was numb, but this only for seconds. Than I went to university hospital and they found a thrombosis of the central eye artery and a 90% thrombosis of the left carotid artery. The MRI also showed 2 small areas in the brain, where a mini-stroke has happened. Immediately they gave me high dose heparin and on the same evening, it was Silvester 22, inserted a stent to my left carotid artery. Unfortunately in the left eye I was left with a central blindness of my left eye.
All together I had luck, that it was just a mini-stroke, however since then pills were contra-indicated, so pills or other meds were allowed and I had full ED, so no sex at all for 6 months, until I found out that an implant might be THE solution and IT WAS!!!
So what you describe
dilated my left pupil and limited the hearing in my right ear
looks pretty much the same!
I recommend to see a doctor and check your blood pressure, heart and arterial vessel status.

Here is some explanation, in which condition, pills like viagra are contraindicated:
Viagra (sildenafil) can rarely cause a stroke, especially in men with pre-existing cardiovascular disease or when taken with nitrates. It is essential to consult a doctor before taking Viagra, as erectile dysfunction is often a warning sign of cardiovascular problems, and Viagra is contraindicated in certain pre-existing conditions. Combining it with nitrates (e.g., for angina) can lead to a life-threatening drop in blood pressure, which can trigger a stroke or heart attack. After a recent stroke, Viagra should be avoided for at least six months until a thorough cardiological evaluation has been completed.

Risk factors and contraindications:
Nitrates: Combining Viagra with nitrate medications is life-threatening.
Recent stroke/heart attack: Should be avoided.
Severe cardiovascular disease: Such as unstable angina or heart failure.
Real kidney or liver dysfunction.

If I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, I would have done it 7 years earlier. My original equipment worked great for a long time. But the progression of diabetes and ED went hand-in-hand, until sex became very hit-and-miss. Pills helped a lot in the beginning. But then it became more miss than hit. Then PIV became next to impossible. I tried injections, and they had an effect, but still not enough for reliable PIV.

I had a rough recovery from implant surgery and couldn't start cycling until almost 8 weeks. Also lost a good amount of sensation for many months, but I don't know if it was from impact to nerves or my brain slowly adapting to the changes down there. Now orgasm with PIV has become frequent and very very very enjoyable. All that said -- my implant works better than my great OEM equipment ever did. The ability to effortlessly get hard on demand, stay hard no matter what happens - change positions - or whatever we do, continue even after orgasm, and keep going until my wife is exhausted with a huge smile on her face -- is something that even my great OEM equipment could never do. And that has taken the physical relationship with my wife way beyond anything we previously thought possible. I'm a big fan.
My wife is a huge fan :)

I realize things can go wrong. And I may need one or more revisions. And maybe they will or won't turn out well. But I'm a big believer in the lyric ""Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans". So regardless of what happens in the future, nothing can take away what we've been able to experience with each other post implant surgery.

Best wishes to everyone.
