“I wish I’d done it ten years earlier…”

Postby Nocturne » Mon Jan 05, 2026 7:04 am

We’ve all heard this refrain, or something like it, coming from happy and satisfied bionic men.
If you’re one of them, I have a question: if you could go back and do it again, what would be the threshold you would use for deciding when to get your implant, as opposed to the one you DID use? Would it have gotten you the implant “ten years earlier”? How would that have impacted your life, besides the obvious?
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".

Do I wish I had done it 10 years sooner, YES.
Would I change what I did, NO.

My wife has said she wishes I had skipped the pills and injections.
She also says she wouldn't want me to get a revision, but if things stay good, I would.

I wish I'd have done it 30 years earlier.
I'd have avoided a serious medical problem got worse by meds like viagra, my arteriosclerosis and nearly a thrombosis of the left Carotis artery, that caused a mini-stroke, where I got a stent 12/22.

Well maybe not ten years sooner, but definitely sooner than I did. Hated having to rely on pills and injections to have sex. The worst was having to plan sex, and sometimes things didn't work. When Viagra and Trimix failed it was like going through ED starting all over. Talk about depressing.

I would have had my implant closer to two decades ago knowing what I know now.
Threshold; probably would have been a lot sooner without fighting pills vs. pills and doctors and injections.
Outcome; I probably would have divorced a lot earlier and no doubt probably furthered my career.

So it's never to late to get the implant?

Heck no it’s not to late. The more I read about sexual health as I age the more youthful I feel. Every where I read men in their 70’s n 80’s are banging away.

Keep reading signatures on here and you will find many men that went through the same as you have.

Yes I wish I had done it 10 years earlier. It was very hit-or-miss for many, many years. Sex was always an unreliable experience for both. This has affected me in ways that hurt both of us.
At 68 I had taken the plunge. The day before the operation, I had a heart attack, then 12 months later, they found prostate cancer. Prostatectomy. Now with a less-than-functioning dick, I am in line ASAP

So my advice is if you have ED issues, get it done ASAP. Life has a habit of getting in the way. And save yourself a lot of grief.
1955. I have had ED for years. We were planning to go for a Rigi10 in October 2024. Life got in the way (heart attack & stent), so we are now going for injections as a fill-in. 9/2025 More life roadblocks with prostate Cancer:((
