Hi macoza. I’m also scheduled for next week and I did a double take when I read your post because it sounded like I wrote it. I have the same feelings and it has been a rollercoaster for me as some other members have said to me. Getting responses from NYCGAY and other members have been helpful for me to read and hopefully are helping you too.

I can't wait!

Guys you are all going to be fine. As others have said all of those emotions are normal.
I was apprehensive, excited, scared. worried and really keen to get started, all at the same time.
Nursing and surgical staff are usually very good at putting you at ease in my experience.
Once you're booked in and ready for the OR try and relax. Ask any last minute questions if you need to.
It won't be long and you'll be in recovery having coffee and sandwiches.
Then you can start on the journey of getting to know your implant :).

I've got my surgery comming up in 3 weeks and I am looking forward with excited anticipation.

Sure, there will be some uncomfortable times ahead, but I know it will all be worth it in the end.

How do I know? Well I have spent the last 15 years having every part of my groin poked, prodded, pierced, chopped, sliced, stitched and lasered. I've been under general aesthetic 4 times.

I have learned that every surgery has a process of healing and recovery. It's not easy but you just have to let it happen. A bit like a long plane flight in the middle seat. Just get in the zone, tune out and let it happen, because at the end of the journey is an amazingly beautiful place.

Recovery isn't a day or a week or even a month, and sometimes you wonder if will ever be right, then one day you discover this is the new you. Dick 2.0 (or 3.0). Things don't work like they did when you were 18, but hell, so much better than they did last year, and maybe better than the last decade. Different yes, nicely different, absolutely.

So put your head in the right space, be confident in the choices you have made, be ready for a rocky ride, and look forward to a bright new future you.
20 years of ED, initially managed by pills. Increasingly severe BPH, emergency HoLEP prostatectomy 4 years ago. Fixed the prostate but pills just don't work any more. Solution is decided.
Currently booked for surgery Jan 2026.

Relax. It’s all going to be ok. Here’s what to expect:

The day of your surgery and much of the day after, you won’t feel much pain. They use a long lasting numbing drug during surgery that slowly wears off.

After that you will be really sore and uncomfortable for 2-3 weeks, but you will not be in sharp agonizing pain. I took a total of 2-3 narcotic pain pills, using ibuprofen and tylenol for the rest of the time. It is important and essential that you ice the area continuously. This lowers the pain and soreness and speeds recovery.

Yes, you will grow weary of being sore, but every day is a little better. By week four I was having sex again. So, I was pretty sore for four weeks, but that soreness never kept me from sleeping and once the sex commenced with a wonderful hard on, I never looked back!
67 years old. Long term progressive ED. Pills and injections no longer the solution.
Implanted 4/4/2025. AMS 700CX 21cm with .5 extenders

If God truly blessed us we wouldn't need to go bionic. Nonetheless, I deeply appreciate your hope for me and I wish the same success for you and your surgery, brother.
