Blood Thinner and Implant Surgery

I have a future appointment with
Dr. Taj for evaluation for a Titan implant. I am currently on Eliquis blood thinner. How do surgeons deal with blood thinners?

Probabyly you'll have to stop Eliquis for one week prior surgery and receive Heparin s.c. every day till after surgery.
But you must check with your surgeon.
I also had one prior my surgery, got huge hematomas...

My surgeon said no blood thinning medications for at least 3 weeks pre op, even fish oil capsules were a no no.
It has been the same for the other 7 surgeries I've had (not implant related).
But yes, you should definitely ask your doctor for advice specific to you, especially for any complex health needs.
If you go ahead, often the surgeon or hospital will also provide a handout with all the prep instructions.
