Today was my "activation" day and I am devastated and pretty damn angry, quite frankly. My surgeon came in after my waiting in a room for an hour filled with anxiety. The PA was very nice and asked if it was okay for her to be in the room....and that she would also help with the activation. Why did I get the feeling this was her first time.

When he came in he was a bit abrupt but I understood that being it was the holiday and he seemed to be extremely busy. He asked me if I tried to pump it on my own. I said I had a few times but the pump was hard and I didn't really get any results.

Well, now I know why. In previous posts, I had mentioned that he left me deflated after surgery and after the swelling went down, my flacced penis was zeroing in on 4 inches. Well, after about 8 - 10 pumps, my penis was STILL 4 inches and not rigid at all. Lots of pain, but zero growth. He then told me that this is it. He told me to feel the tips of the cylinders in my glans and that meant it was fully loaded. He gave it to the PA to try and she actually was beet red, especially when she saw how upset I was at the results.

When I questioned him, that's when his surgeon ego kicked in and told me that, well, it's hard enough and long enough for successful intercourse. But to me, even if I agreed with that premise on the lack of size, it didn't even feel that hard or rigid. So, I lost over two inches AND it didn't seem to be that hard.

He also told me that this was the size that fit my anatomy and he told me in our pre-op meetings that this surgery wouldn't increase my size. And I told him today that I was well aware of this fact, but, I was much larger not only using the VED, but even with my hard-flaccid issues I was close to 6" and almost 7" in the VED. He asked me if I could send him a photo of that; I told him I wanted to do that pre-op but he said that was useless. That he would measure me in the OR.

This is where he got to be an asshole and was very dismissive and in a hurry. As in "how dare you question my surgery" type of thing. I told him he gave me a micro-penis. He told me again that it fit my anatomy and it's good enough for sex. He also said that cycling was a myth if I'm having sex and didn't need to do it more than a couple of times a week.

He could see how angry I was and so he bid me adieu. The PA stayed back awhile and she said to give it time, to cycle and wait a couple of months to see what happens.

Fellas, I am devastated. Even my wife...in the kindest way possible asked me what we're supposed to do with this thing? She knows what size I was before. She is also shocked. He also left me still fumbling around with the pump and button. But when I pumped it up at the office myself for practice, it was barely 4" when it started to hurt. And it wasn't even standing up at attention! There seems to me to be only a minor difference to me flaccid and "rigid."

Have any of you gone through this? If so, did it ever resolve itself to your satisfaction through cycling. I'm already thinking revision with Dr. Clavell if this doesn't get better in the next 3 months or so. The surgeon I used was the surgeon in the Sexual Health Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. I used him because of all of my surgeries and health issues are cared for there and all of my other doctors have saved my life a couple of times now. But I can see I made a major error here.

Any insight any of you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and again Happy Holidays.

Hey man, don't panic and let's try to analyze the situation: When fully pumped can you still stretch your penis further? Because if yes then cuold be that you are actually undersized.

Also mind the sometimes AMS with tenacio is difficult to inflate fully at early stages, so that may improve over time.Give it 6 months of cycling for see if you are able to regain any size.

On a side note: a question that may be of interest for hard flaccid guys, do you feel hard flaccid has or is impacting any way your results with the surgery? Can you still feel the corpora trying to retract against the rods?

What you are feeling is completely valid and more common than you might think on activation day, which is often a traumatic letdown after the anticipation of surgery. The experience you described, the pain, the lack of size and rigidity, the surgeon's dismissive ego, and the crushing disappointment, is a story shared by many men before you, and the critical thing to know is that this moment is not your final result.

Your body is still in a state of profound trauma and swelling from the surgery; the tissues are tight and inflamed, and the cylinders simply cannot expand to their intended size yet. The PA, despite the awkwardness, gave you the single most important piece of medical advice you will get: give it time and commit to cycling. Your surgeon is profoundly wrong to call cycling a myth; it is the essential process over the next eight to twelve weeks that gently stretches the tunica and allows the device to fully unfold, which is how you regain lost length and achieve proper rigidity. Your current perceived size is not your destiny. The path forward is to focus on healing, start a gentle and consistent cycling routine as pain allows, and mentally mark your calendar for three months post op for a true preliminary assessment. The thought of a revision is an understandable safety net for your mind, but any high volume dedicated implanter would require you to wait four to six months for everything to settle before they could even evaluate it. You are in the worst part of the process now, but please hold onto the fact that the vast majority of men in your exact situation see significant improvement with time and proper cycling. Your wife's support is crucial now, and so is allowing yourself to heal both physically and from this emotional blow. You have options, but the immediate next step is patience and dedicated aftercare.

We are here for you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

I would first try cycling to see if size increases; if not, I would then contact Clavell. Plenty of guys here have gone from 4 inches immediate post-op to 6 inches with the LGX model.

I also have an LGX. Immediately after surgery and at activation, I was also quite disappointed in the my apparent size.
However, after cycling for a few months, I regained most of my initial loss, and in less than a year, was back to my pre-implant size. I eventually gained another cm or two with regular cycling.

Hang in there and give it a chance.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas.

Irish Lad:

Thank you. I really appreciate your words.

So, I tried cycling for the first time myself last night. It seemed like I pumped about 30 times and literally nothing happened. My wife said it felt hard, but that's the way it's felt to me since the surgery. And, as in your experience, mine did not shoot out...even to 80% or what I would consider 10%. It's just there. And, I'm having a difficult time locating the deflate button anyway. My doctor seemed to be impatient with me yesterday. I rewatched the AMS 700 Tenacio video over and over last night. I also read a couple of urology websites that said this is a bit normal for some patients and I have to give it time. I've asked for an appointment with one of the surgeon's Physician's Assistants (that's what we have here in the US) to get me pumped up to full max and deflate. I'm not doing something right.

A lot of guys here they say they feel 18 again with their implant. From the way it looks and feels right now, I'm feeling like when I was 10!

I'll keep at it. And, again, thank you for your insight and encouragement.

Thank you. I appreciate your encouragement and insight. Everyone seems to have the same advice. To calm the f*&k down and be patient :). Good advice. It's only been one day since the surgeon activated the pump. When he said it was fully pumped, it was not sticking straight out but at 4 o"clock. He showed me where the tips WERE in my glans so I was not undersized and I do not have floppy glans. But, I tried pumping on my own last night and it did not go well. After 20, 30 pumps it still looks like I'm in flaccid state. I've requested an appointment with the Urology Department as he is out on vacation for a month. I don't particularly want to see him anyway. I'm hoping one of his PA's or nurses can give me another lesson on inflating and deflating.

Thank you again. And, happy holidays.

I just wanted to thank ALL of you who took the time out, on Christmas Eve and Day no less, to send me words of encouragement, hope, insight and some educated science.

My first attempt at inflating last night was pretty much a failure, but I will keep at it. And keeping all of your sage advice in mind.

Thank you again! Happy Holidays!

Well it’s Christmas morning here and the first thing im doing is checking on you. You’re going through a lot your body is still pissed off. 30 pumps on your home trial, NO WAY LOL your pump is as hard as a marble, you will need both hands to get one pump out of it. It’s going to take time practice and patience and it’s going to hurt. Enjoy today! It’s Christmas. Tomorrow after you research 2 hand pumping start the process. And know each day will be better than the last . Hugs

Just a quick thought when your first starting the bulb is so hard its tough to get the valve set the first pump needs to be a quick hard pump which will set your valve ...i would try pushing the release button....then make sure you pump hard and fast and don't hit the release button at the same time it happens at first because its so hard..... get in a hot bath let things relax and try after some practice you'll get it ......and my first one wanted to punch my old doc had the same as you short lol but with proper cycling i think you will get some back i did average size ....your very early on have to be patient takes time
