Greetings all and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Today was my "activation" day and I am devastated and pretty damn angry, quite frankly. My surgeon came in after my waiting in a room for an hour filled with anxiety. The PA was very nice and asked if it was okay for her to be in the room....and that she would also help with the activation. Why did I get the feeling this was her first time.
When he came in he was a bit abrupt but I understood that being it was the holiday and he seemed to be extremely busy. He asked me if I tried to pump it on my own. I said I had a few times but the pump was hard and I didn't really get any results.
Well, now I know why. In previous posts, I had mentioned that he left me deflated after surgery and after the swelling went down, my flacced penis was zeroing in on 4 inches. Well, after about 8 - 10 pumps, my penis was STILL 4 inches and not rigid at all. Lots of pain, but zero growth. He then told me that this is it. He told me to feel the tips of the cylinders in my glans and that meant it was fully loaded. He gave it to the PA to try and she actually was beet red, especially when she saw how upset I was at the results.
When I questioned him, that's when his surgeon ego kicked in and told me that, well, it's hard enough and long enough for successful intercourse. But to me, even if I agreed with that premise on the lack of size, it didn't even feel that hard or rigid. So, I lost over two inches AND it didn't seem to be that hard.
He also told me that this was the size that fit my anatomy and he told me in our pre-op meetings that this surgery wouldn't increase my size. And I told him today that I was well aware of this fact, but, I was much larger not only using the VED, but even with my hard-flaccid issues I was close to 6" and almost 7" in the VED. He asked me if I could send him a photo of that; I told him I wanted to do that pre-op but he said that was useless. That he would measure me in the OR.
This is where he got to be an asshole and was very dismissive and in a hurry. As in "how dare you question my surgery" type of thing. I told him he gave me a micro-penis. He told me again that it fit my anatomy and it's good enough for sex. He also said that cycling was a myth if I'm having sex and didn't need to do it more than a couple of times a week.
He could see how angry I was and so he bid me adieu. The PA stayed back awhile and she said to give it time, to cycle and wait a couple of months to see what happens.
Fellas, I am devastated. Even my wife...in the kindest way possible asked me what we're supposed to do with this thing? She knows what size I was before. She is also shocked. He also left me still fumbling around with the pump and button. But when I pumped it up at the office myself for practice, it was barely 4" when it started to hurt. And it wasn't even standing up at attention! There seems to me to be only a minor difference to me flaccid and "rigid."
Have any of you gone through this? If so, did it ever resolve itself to your satisfaction through cycling. I'm already thinking revision with Dr. Clavell if this doesn't get better in the next 3 months or so. The surgeon I used was the surgeon in the Sexual Health Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. I used him because of all of my surgeries and health issues are cared for there and all of my other doctors have saved my life a couple of times now. But I can see I made a major error here.
Any insight any of you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and again Happy Holidays.

Hey mate. I had a very similar mindset when I was first inflated. From my experience, it really does take time and consistent cycling for the device to reach its full rigidity and size. I know it’s hard to imagine things improving early on, but in most cases they genuinely do.
I panicked early and ended up getting a revision too soon, instead of waiting to see the final outcome at the 12-month mark. The only thing that stands out to me in your case is that a 17 cm implant does seem on the smaller side for a 6–7” penis — for context, I was around 6” pre-op and was fitted with a 23.5 cm implant. That said, everyone’s anatomy is different, so comparisons aren’t always straightforward. One of the most important things to check is whether you can clearly feel the tips of the implant in the glans.
Another potential concern is being told by your surgeon that cycling doesn’t improve size.
Having been through this process three times now, my biggest piece of advice is patience. Give it at least six months of proper cycling before making any judgments or decisions. I know that’s tough to hear, especially when you have a partner, but this reaction is extremely common early on.
Merry Christmas.

As I said in my post. Obviously, I was not getting erections which is why I got the surgery. However, as recently as last year I was able to get semi-hard erections with pills that were averaged around 6" when I would measure. Even during my hard-flaccid stage prior to surgery, I could stretch out my penis, as directed and it was a little over 6".

Re: I Got Screwed! And not in the good way!
Hi mate, did you go penoscrotal or infrapubic?
Does the penis seem slightly compressed at all?
It will likely get a bit bigger when you get a few good cycles into it. Also with glans engorgement if you're like most people you'll probably get an extra 0.5 inches length via the glans when you're aroused.
I honestly can't see what the end result might be like, you might well get it all back. I've seen people posting here saying they regained 1.5 inches from cycling.
You'll need to give it time and some practice with cycling before you can call judgement on it. It will do your head in because it might take a few weeks for you to see a change, based on how sore it is for you to cycle.
I was a little over 6" bone pressed before surgery myself 6 weeks ago. When I first came out of surgery I was down 2cm, but about 0.8cm of that was from glans engorgement, so really just down about 1.2cm in the shaft.
After 3 weeks my surgeon squished my penis when showing me how to cycle and when I went home and measured it that point it was honestly gone down to 4.8 inches, but it looked squished and bizarre. However as soon as I started cycling it pretty much shot out straight away. I was able to cycle to 80%+ when I started at 3 weeks. It erected, went straight and hard and just like that I went to 5.75 inches bone pressed. With the first few cycles it was like my squashed penis just unfolded itself like an accordion. This might happen for you too. Now with glans engorgement my length is pretty much the same as what I had before.
My surgeon also did not advise me that it would get bigger. When I asked him if cycling would help with length or girth he was kind of dismissive, he sort of just said maybe, and I was disheartened by that. After speaking to a few patients, I've come to realise that a lot of our implant surgeons here in Ireland and the UK, seem to "under promise and over deliver." It's as if they never advise of size gains because there's probably some people that will never regain anything, but a majority do seem to regain something.
It seems a bit 90%+ of patients on these forums are a bit shorter before they start cycling. 90% seem to say that they regain some lost length from cycling.
I would say hang tight and don't judge it until you've got 80%+ of maximum inflation, along with an engorged glans. You'll have to get to that level before you'll know what direction it's going in. If I was to guess I'd say you'll regain about 1 inch and land at about 5 inches. I'm guessing that based on my own experience, and on stuff I've read here and also on the length of your implant itself. But you might even exceed that.
I know it's hard but try to bear some more patience and wait for another few weeks of cycling and stimulating glans engorgement before you judge it.

Sorry you are dealing w this, your Doc sounds like hes a total rookie in this industry.
So here’s what you need to know! Its absolutely not true you ar at full length with out proper long term cycling! And you have a Lgx that has the ability to soften and extend. So brother relax have a good Christmas it’s going to grow my Lgx ultimately ended up 1.5 larger then activation day. Just take your time get to know your pump your body has been through a lot it needs time as do you to adjust to being bionic. Its going to be much better.
Get w a show n tell volunteer if needed also if you’re over weight that dosnt help matters, Your going to have a much better year in 2026

Re: I Got Screwed! And not in the good way!
Hey Vincent, Merry Christmas. Sorry you had a tough day.
My first thought is you are likely going to get bigger, no matter what anyone says. It’s a pretty common experience, and has been documented in a number of scientific studies. So I would remain hopeful.
I don’t think it’s an uncommon reaction to feel immediate disappointment about inflated size. A lot of guys feel that way. But satisfaction with size goes up over time, also documented in studies.
As for how big you will get: you have 17 cm of implant. This isn’t scientific and is more just a “rule of thumb” that was passed on from other brothers,
But generally most guys are going to get a bone-pressed length that is between 2/3 and 3/4 of their implant size. If we applied that to you, that would put the upward bound at a bit over five inches.
But! You have an LGX, which is a model where the implant itself is supposed to lengthen. So there could be some lengthening from that, too. Most of us do not have models that lengthen like that, so it is difficult to guess at how much that would be.
As for whether the doc is responsible for this length issue or not: it’s possible the doc undersized you, meaning he put an implant in you that is smaller than what your tunica is capable of handling. If that is the case, there may be indicators of that, like a “floppy glans” where the tips of your implant don’t extend into the glans, and the glans kinda hangs off as a result when you are fully inflated. It may be too early to see that yet. Some recent threads on floppy glans have pics of guys with what looks like that, you might track those down.
If you were undersized, then an experienced surgeon might be able to identify that and correct it with a larger implant.
But, there is also the possibility that you were not undersized, meaning your tunica simply doesn’t allow a larger implant. If that’s the case, then your doc had nothing to do with it… it’s just where your body left you after your cancer and period of ED.
Because of all this, I would suggest:
1) Remain hopeful, definitely cycle, you are going to grow over time, both length and girth. It may take up to a year, or even two. Yes, having sex is the best way to cycle! But you should probably do both.
2) Set up consults with one or more experienced surgeons. They will be in the best position to tell you whether you are undersized, or how you can get that determination made. If you were undersized, they can help you with the steps to get it corrected. They may be able to consult from afar, but you could also fly in for a quick consult.
Based on what I read here, getting severely undersized happens, but is rare. If you are, then there are reasons to get a revision done that go beyond just dissatisfaction, such as floppy glans, and preserving size long term.
Regardless of whether you were undersized, use your dick and find some joy with it regardless of the size. You’ve been through a lot with cancer and the ED. It’s unfair to ask you to bear further burdens, but such is life. You can have a very satisfying sex life with what you have. And remember…. It is very likely going to get bigger, particularly if you use it! So put it to use and see where it takes you (but do your consults, too).
Be well, Leto

50. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.
