Cystoscopy After Being Implanted

Postby UpNorth » Fri Dec 19, 2025 8:58 am

It was asked a couple months ago if anyone has had this procedure done after implanted.
Well, just had it done this week. The discomfort level seemed less, no hesitation observed while he performed the procedure.
One thing I did note is the nurse did hold my pecker upright longer than other nurses did allowing lidocaine and lube to settle down in urethra. Dr Eid’s office used a clamp and was smooth as well, but previous times the nurse just injected serum and let my pecker dangle (another reason I looked for new uro).

Bottom lines;
1. 16 months cancer free!
2. Cystoscopy with implant was problem free.

I've been doing these since April 2023, next one in January. I was implanted when my cancer showed up. It was every 3 months for the first 2 years, now it's every 6 months.
I don't know what the nurses do during the procedure because they put me to sleep!

I’ve had cystoscopies both before and after being implanted. I remember them as similar to each other: painful, but not excruciatingly so.

Implanted by Dr. Eid on 2021-05-11: 24 cm Titan OTR.

I am wandering if a TURBT is more difficult with an IPP and if UTI risk
increases the risk of IPP infection ?
