Hard and Worrying Recovery Process

Postby Irish Lad 34 » Mon Dec 01, 2025 8:01 pm

I'm 19 days post-op. I've been left fully deflated. Swelling and bruising is all mostly gone and was never much of a serious issue.

I've had the penis pointed up for nearly 3 weeks and I'm fed up with that.

But now what's worrying me is I have less girth now than what I had 2 weeks ago. It's mostly shrunk at the base. It also just generally feels so plastic and artificial, not meaty at all like a normal penis. The base of my penis has a worse looking shape and a good deal less girth in it now than it did 2 weeks ago.

I'm due to be cleared for cycling when I see the surgeon again on Thursday and it couldn't come quicker. All this lying around with my hands tied around my back like this has been exhausting. I'm very eager to cycle now to try and regain shape and size. I'm down a good bit of length, girth and the shape is not looking nice at this stage. I'll be devastated if it does not dramatically improve for the better.

Your girth that has gone down since the week after surgery is probably just the swelling getting better over time as you heal. You're right that the penis will feel more plasticky in some ways, after all you do have two big plastic tubes inside your penis now. This is the tradeoff in order to be able to have sex again.

It's horrible. I'm hoping for dramatic improvements when I inflate and start cycling on Thursday.

Sounds like you're in the "What the hell did I let them do to me?" stage. Give it time, healing is a slow process.
I went through the same thing, took a while for everything to fall into place.

Today is my 41st day post-op. I've been cycling for 30 days now, and my girth has completely returned and is now 16 cm. The length has increased only slightly, maybe half a centimeter. You're going through the most difficult period now. You're shocked by all these kinks inside your penis and its unnatural appearance. Be patient. After a month, those damn kinks have become significantly softer. But the feeling of a plastic penis is really killing me. It takes time to accept this. Did the surgeon offer you AMS before the surgery? Or were you simply unaware of what you'd have to deal with after the surgery?

You started cycling on day 11? I'm now day 20 with a deflated penis and still haven't started cycling. I'm very eager to start cycling. I feel like cracking on and doing it now but the surgeon told me a few weeks ago to wait until I see him. My theory is that early cycling like what you did is the best way to regain size.

Delighted to hear your girth is totally back. How much slimmer was your girth after surgery? How long did it take to come back?

Is the 0.5cm length gain in your shaft or is that from glans engorgement? I think a lot of people measure their penis after surgery with no glans engorgement, then 6 months later they measure fully pumped with glans engorgement, and they fail to take into account that some or all of the extra size is coming from glans engorgement rather than elongation of the shaft. I could be wrong but that's my theory.

Yes the plastic penis is another aspect of the implant that is difficult to adjust to. I'll eventually get over the plastic penis if the fully pumped erect penis looks and feels natural. Does your penis also feel plastic when erect or just when its flacid?

The surgeon advised he offered AMS as well as Titans but strongly advised the Titan for me because I was referred to him by a Coloplast nurse and he reckoned the Titan would be right for me.

BTW you have very big girth. My girth is now 10.5cm in the mid shaft and base, and it's less than 10cm in the upper half of the penis. I won't feel uncomfortable unless I gain 1cm back in girth and 0.5cm in length on the shaft. I'm also now already looking at hyaluronic acid injections lol. Also the flat shape of the implanted penis is horrible.

I started cycling on day 10. Absolutely right. The sooner you start cycling, the better your chances of getting your size back. A penis with and without blood flow are two different things. The length has increased just a little, partly due to better engorgement of the glans. But I feel like I've stretched the tunica by a few millimeters. My girth is above average. You can't see the folds, but they're clearly palpable inside. Every surgeon has different protocols for starting cycling. It's too early for you to judge anything right now. You'll only be able to evaluate everything in 3-6 months. For now, we'll have to go through a series of shocking experiences that need to be overcome. For now, calm down and let your body recover. Everyone here is writing about it. Seriously, let it go. I understand how shocked you are. This is my fourth penis surgery. I spent three years researching implants, talking to hundreds of people, consulting with all the doctors, and mentally preparing myself, so it's easier for me to accept the situation now. But now I'm sure I should have chosen the CX. Even if I had lost my girth, it would have been a lesser grief than this terrible pump that doesn't deflate the implant at all. I should be dancing with tambourines. A guy just sent me a video of him deflating the LGX. It's like night and day. The difference in comfort is colossal. How old are you, and who was your surgeon?

Hence why I've been eager to start cycling ASAP instead of sitting around all this time waiting for my surgeon to tell me "OK off you go and cycle."

A few millimetres is a very minimal length gain. It does sound like the 0.5cm length gain has mostly come from your glans engorhing rather than the shaft elongating. Your girth is incredible though.

I'm 35 and my surgeon was Rowland Rees.

There’s often mis information here.

You should start cycling when the expert, the surgeon, tells you it is time to do so. We all heal differently, and he is going to tell you when YOU have healed sufficiently and it is safe to begin stretching the tissues.

Waiting until your doctor tells you to start cycling WILL NOT impact the eventual restoration of the size and girth of your penis!

The other thing to know is that it will take weeks of cycling time to get to the point where your implant is fully fully inflated and providing you with largest penis your tissues and anatomy.

I pretty much maxed out mine about seven months after surgery. I cycled every night from about 4 weeks post op, so it does take time, but during that time, I again had the ability to get and maintain an erection and had lots and lots of very pleasurable sex!

Give yourself time!

But he inflated me at a check-up on day 8 and inflated it to nearly 100% so I don't anticipate it taking more than a few days for me to be able to reach 100% full inflation after he clears me on Thursday.
