Any longer than average recovery maleable diabetic?

Hi, Type 2 62 years old. Tactra installed
Seven weeks, after a revision from Titan Coloplast that got infected, nerves still healing around rods so conceal-ability when wearing dress slacks is still tough.
I was just checked. No infection, proper fitment etc.
Occasional stinging balls in different spots
Pain on the left side down the shaft comes and goes
I have to drive for a living, and after several hours, I still have pain in the perineum
After attempting to bend it in different positions, stinging comes hours later.
Overall discomfort generally later in the evening. After a lot of research it says older people like myself with type two diabetes, take a lot longer to recover
It’s just depressing when I see people have the same procedure done and they’re out running marathons two weeks later and having sex
Only recently did the edema leave my penis and still have a little bit on the top of testicles.

So I’m just wondering if I’m the only person on the planet that’s ever went seven weeks and still experiencing pain? Thanks

i am Mr impatient ,and after i had my malleable , with a fairly uneventful recovery . Besides very sensitive glans, . i didn't want to wait the 4 weeks to exercise ,so i started doing my bikes rides again . And even with padding on the seat .it got uncomfortable . so i had to stop and wait the recommended time .
But from everything i have read , having diabetes is an extra risk and possibly takes longer to recover from injuries ,surgeries etc .
Have you considered a carnivore diet or keto ?
many people have gotten rid of diabetes by cutting out sugar ,carbs and starches

I have been a diabetic for years. I know all the diets I appreciate it. And I’m actually gonna go back and do some keto for the next month so it might help me recover quicker.

I’m Type 2, and my recovery was longer than average. I also had a huge edema. But we are talking about a few weeks more than most guys. Eventually things will get better, and your pain will subside and you’ll be able to put it to use. Sorry to hear about the original infection and your troubles, but you’ll get there soon.

T2D and malleable. My HbA1c was on target. It still took 8 weeks to be pain free, thanks to big jars of Tylenol and Ibuprofen from Costco and leftover opioids to help me sleep. Hope you get there soon!
