AMS or Coloplast? Which is best for me?

Some surgeons only like one company (I think Eid only uses Coloplast, for example), and some do both but have a preference or bias toward one manufacturer (Hakky does both, but has a slight preference for Coloplast). Others like Clavell are device-agnostic.

Like everybody else, surgeons have biases and preferences. None of that is bad, but you should do your research and know your surgeon’s preferences going in so you can objectively evaluate their recommendations.

I'm looking for a long implant. I think you or someone else mentioned that Coloplast has an implant thats longer than anything AMS has. If thats the case and since Coloplast has a thicker girth then I'll go with Coloplast all the way.

Device-agnostic means he doesn’t really care and doesn’t favor one over the other at all. Clavell will talk a patient through their personal situation and needs and then let the patient choose which implant to go with.

My case was a little unusual — because of my penis size, both Clavell and Hakky said I was basically forced into a Titan, because AMS doesn’t make a large enough implant and the number of RTEs needed could be excessive.

I can attest to this. Dr. Clavell will help you talk through the pros and cons of both Coloplast and AMS and help YOU decide which one is best for you. Some doctors are like Chevy dealers, if you go to them, you're leaving with a Chevy when maybe a Ford should have been considered and would meet your needs better. I know for a fact that Dr. Clavell implanted a Titan in the guy that had the surgery before me. The AMS product has exponentially more users around the world than Coloplast, and it's not close.

I think it's a mistake to consult with ANY doctor that only offers one option.

Also, it's worth noting that the AMS product is more costly than the Coloplast. If a doc wants to increase his bottom line without adjusting the top line, then the Coloplast makes him/her more money. With Dr. Clavell, the price remains the same no matter what implant you choose. I found him to be primarily interested in the best outcome for the patient, not what generates the most cash (I'm looking at you Perito, you and your 15 minute infrapubic installations that you brag on your own videos allow you to do 3x the implantations and make more money)
