I had a CT Scan yesterday to prepare for an appendectomy. It shows that my Titan reservoir is located on the left side. I thought it was supposed to be in the middle of my lower abdomen.
Is this normal? Can the location cause any problems?

Re: Reservoir Location Issue
Typically they are placed into the abdomen via the inguinal canal. Mine was place via my left inguinal canal, so mine is on the left. Being in the side of the lower abdomen is expected.
It shouldn’t cause a problem for your surgeon. But it’s good that they know where the components of your implant are located so they don’t damage your implant while they are working to remove your appendix (or whatever they decide to do).

Re: Reservoir Location Issue
Most bowel surgery goes in through the left to access the descending and sigmoid colon, so I think it’s generally best to place the reservoir on the right in case of future surgery.
