AMS 700 Tenacio Pump hard to inflate
I am just over 7 weeks post-op and have trouble getting the pump bulb to squeeze easily to inflate my implant. I have gotten it to inflate one time with lots of little squeezes but I don't feel it was 100% inflated. My bulb is also sitting high in my scrotum and I have been trying to force it down and not having much luck. Has anyone else seen these issues and have any suggestions?

Hard flaccid syndrome since 2019. Trying to get better with conservative treatments but an implant is on my radar

Re: AMS 700 Tenacio Pump hard to inflate
mjaneway, I was implanted in Feb with an AMS700 CX and a Tenacio pump. When I started cycling the pump bulb was hard, and I did exactly what you're doing -- lots and lots of "mini-pumps". Over 2-3 weeks the pump bulb began to soften and I was able to get full pump squeezes.
There was a recall announced for the pump, but it turned out very few of the devices were affected by the issue. Once the pump bulb softened the pump has worked great for me, even though the deflate button doesn't work the way I expected it to.

They both said that the issue was identified and resolved, and, that if your pump is working it is not affected by the recall. For me, my Tenacio pump is on that list and its worked fine since the procedure in Feb.

Looking for help from successful recipients. I’m 11 weeks post surgery and disappointed beyond words. Hard to inflate, 50% original size and “fully” inflated does not achieve any elevation. Surgeon declares it a success.

That's terrible. Do you have a floppy glans? If not it sounds like you were sized correctly. Maybe the proximal tips don't reach far enough down and thus the poor angle?
What type of implant do you have? Did the surgeon address any of your concerns? Are you aggressively cycling and/or doing Perito exercises? What is the quality of your erection from a firmness standpoint?

Solarboyz, I'm sorry to hear about your outcome. Same questions as ElbowRoom above. Is it hard to inflate because the pump bulb material is still hard, or, does it seem something else is impairing the flow to the cylinders ? Have you checked your pump's serial number against the recall list ?

Re: AMS 700 Tenacio Pump hard to inflate
Thanks for reply. I am learning from this forum how unprepared I was for this surgery, or that my education by physician was not adequate, or my expectations and impatience are getting in the way. all possible.
I have another meeting tomorrow with physician. I will ask for the 3rd time for the serial number since that request has been ignored twice. The Perito exercise was never discussed with me, so I watched the video and tried it. a little painful but doable. I will bring that up to physician as well.
I am 11 weeks post surgery. Are my expectations to high at this point? I may have an overinflated view of my past size and girth ( yes! Pun intended, bet I am not the first!), but more distressing is my wife's agreement "that "thing aint gonna work " and i have lost size.
does it improve?
Specs- AMS700 CX Tenacio. 24cm implant, .5 cm right only tip extender.100ml reservoir.

Re: AMS 700 Tenacio Pump hard to inflate
Solarboyz, the way you described things, it does not sound like the normal kind of outcome we read about on FrankTalk, and it doesn't sound like the kind of outcome that would cause implants to have a 90%+ satisfaction rating. You have an AMS rep that can help, and maybe he/she can provide the serial number. Whether that comes from AMS or your Dr, you'd certainly want to see if it's on the recall list relative to difficulty pumping. I hope your Dr can answer your most pressing questions like "why hard to inflate", "why 50% of pre-op size", and "why no change in angle".
Tenacio recall
https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=27172&hilit=recall#p261546
FWIW, my Dr didn't have the Perito talk with me either. When I asked, he told me he knows Perito but has concerns about doing that at full inflation. He said 'you can do it if you want to', but be aware that the extreme bending at full inflation will spike the fluid pressure which could affect the cylinders, tubing and pump. That's why he doesn't have the Perito talk with his patients.
'Does it improve' ? There's lots of FrankTalk threads on the subject. Lots of guys gain size post-op (Perito, VED, aggressive cycling), but I don't think regaining 50% size is a common thing. Seems like if you're severely undersized you'd have a bad case of floppy glans.
We'll be anxious to hear what your Dr has to say about these issues. Sending best wishes.

I’m with Chuck on this one. My doc didn’t recommend the Perito technique in my case, we talked it through and went with a normal cycling method he thought would fit me better. As for the implant, this thing feels rock-solid and indestructible. I’ve had zero issues, and I’d honestly call my satisfaction 100%. That’s why the “90% satisfaction” stats you see floated around don’t quite match my reality. I get that everyone’s journey is different, but from where I’m sitting, the device has been fantastic.

Re: AMS 700 Tenacio Pump hard to inflate
chuck,
any input on how many weeks before bulb softens? visited the surgeon ( again) and he confirmed I have the 24 cm tubes and the 100 ml reservoir. All I know for sure is that I have owned this piece of anatomy for 68 years and been married to the same woman for 45. Neither of us are happy. Is it useable? maybe. is it what I was born with? No.The surgery was to cure ED and Peyronies. Prior to surgery was pills and then injections. Peyronies not withstanding the difference between former and current erections is significant. at the end of a lengthy pumping cycle and me and it standing up, a baseball hat would fall right off. No elevation. Surgeon declares it a success and I do not.
