Not sure why but I wanted to share my story. I guess it’s because I found this forum about 5 or so months ago and it’s helped me more than I can ever say. The information, the stories of success and sometimes having to overcome issues has been important in making my decision.
I have had ED for what seems like forever. I’m 64 now but it affected me in my early forties. When viagra, etc came along that worked ok for a while. When that failed I went to injections. Hated the lack of spontaneity and the ache I’d get from injections but I could perform comfortably for quite a while. I started with a relatively low dose timix and through the years had to continue to increase to the highest strength quad mix I could get through my provider. I lost confidence completely in my ability to have sex.
I was going to a men’s health clinic associated with a major university in my area. Initially when I mentioned an implant they pretty much indicated that it was a last resort. About 3-4 years ago I moved to a neighboring state and sought a new provider. Found a men’s health clinic run by a doctor that is listed as a COE for both AMS and Coloplast. Went to see him and it was a disaster. Said I was short already and I’d lose size getting an implant. I am not well endowed by any stretch so that was a total mind fuck and I pretty much gave up.
Fast forward to recent times and the woman I’ve been with for the last 10 years blasted me for ruining our sex life single handedly. We have not had sex for years once I completely lost my confidence in my ability to perform with the injections. She is 20 years younger than I and says I have thrown away the peak years of her sex life. And that now she is in peri-menopause she has no sex drive and isn’t interested in having sex with me ever again. Needless to say we are in a bad place but that forced me to look at myself and take action.
So the 18th I am having a Titan implanted. I met with a number of surgeons, some very high volume and all on the COE list for one of the two main implant companies. One of the high volume surgeons that is discussed a lot on this site was great when I met him and I wanted to go in that direction. But he did not take my insurance and the logistics would have been tough for me. I am basically on my own for this. So I chose a situation that best worked for me and am hoping it’s the right choice.
I am very nervous and hoping the outcome is a positive one. Then we’ll see what the future brings. But I did want to say that all of you and all the posts on this site have been a huge help whether you knew it or not. I have logged in and read everything pretty religiously every single day. Thank you and wish me luck.

You are gonna be fine, brother. This is the place to tell your story; we all know it, we have all been through something similar.
It’s gonna take a bit to heal up, but you are going to be so glad you had the courage to take this step once you heal.
Whether the implant helps you fix things with your current woman or allows you to, uh, broaden your horizons, just know that there are better days ahead.
With high hopes for a successful surgery!
Be well,
Leto

50. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Soon you will feel completely changed. You’ve read enough to know what you have in front of you and when you have a moment and need a refresher jump on here and ask and continue sharing your life.
You have your popcorn in the freezer, pillow to keep feet propped up, and high protein food ready, and lots of shows picked out to watch.
People will notice how much more relaxed and happy you are.
Optimism.

Soon2B,
It’s tough to take that first step, but it’s the best tough step that I took 4 years ago at the age of 63.
I did skip the injections, it was bad enough trying to take a Viagra or a Cialis and hope that it would work when you ate something that might cancel out the effectiveness of the PDE5 inhibitor.
After 6 months, it felt like my old dick except, it was now an On Demand Dick! Yay!
I talked my wife into getting her hormone levels checked the second year of having my Bionic Dick because I wanted sex more often. She is almost 5 years younger than me at 62, her levels were very low. When she started getting the pellet installed every 4 months, she wants sex a lot more and if I want it more than her, I can get her horny in no time with foreplay and then it’s go time.
Keep taking the tough steps to get your manhood back and hopefully your wife can take some steps too.

In my opinion you have made the right decision.
We are both very different people no doubt but we share one thing in common- we for whatever reasons have had a disastrous sex life.
I had an implant in July, and like you I was very nervous beforehand. Just to add to the drama mine failed in less than 3 months and I just had a new implant in July. My only fear now is infection.
But most importantly what I experienced in the short time I had the first implant was discovering a new sense of confidence. Hard to describe how special and important that felt. I had never felt like that before in my life.
Good luck mate.

Re: Surgery 11/18. First time implant.
It sounds like you’re in the right life circumstance for an implant. Having just gone through it myself on 10/21, feel free to hit me up with any questions.
I will say, however, that your woman sounds borderline emotionally abusive. Pushing responsibility for a bad sex life on a single partner is really pretty awful. Sure, you have a physical disability in that regard, but she chooses to make you a scapegoat for her frustrations instead of trying to support you through it.
Relationships are complex and I’m not trying to judge yours. I would encourage you, however, to carefully evaluate your relationship and consider your options, once you’re healed up from your surgery and your confidence has returned.
Best of luck with the surgery, we’re here to support you!
