I think for those of us that never had a period of a reliably hard dick, this implanted period is bittersweet… it’s amazing to finally have this power we always craved, but at the same time it’s sad to think back to what could have been had we not had the problems for so long.

Yes, bittersweet indeed. I try not to fret too much about the past, but there is no denying that my ED was a major source of frustration and disappointment for me for over three decades. What would it have been like to be a young man and have the kind of erections that most young men have; to be able to just take your erections for granted; to be more worried about getting hard at an inopportune moment than not getting hard when you want to be? I never had that. No wonder we are trying to make up for lost time.

I'm starting my own journey after a lifetime of trouble--first with the closet and then, working my way out, discovering I couldn't get it up sufficiently for penetration. After a lot of trouble I have a working implant and on Friday got my first PreP script.

I can certainly relate. When I had finally accepted that I was gay and worked up the courage to seek out other gay men and thought that I would at last have a sex life – then I discovered that I couldn’t maintain an erection. It was like a double whammy, a brutal disappointment.

Glad to hear you’ve gotten your PrEP script. That was another issue that tormented me when I was young: the fear of getting AIDS. I’ve been on PrEP for ten years now. It sure is easier to enjoy sex when you’re not constantly afraid.

I’ve had guys hungrily sucking on the pump with no idea that it wasn’t my testicle. Lots of hands and mouths on it and no one noticed I have an IPP.

Oh, now you’ve made me excited about getting the Classic pump! I’m not overly worried about partners discovering that I have an implant. When someone asks me what it is I have in my ballsack, I tell them. But having the choice, of course I would prefer having a pump that doesn’t feel like an artificial object!

Reading of your experience really makes me wish I was gay because God damn those clubs & the openness of it all sounds amazing lol.

While certainly not all gay men are promiscuous, quite a lot are, so if you want to play, you can always find guys to play with. I really enjoy places where you can both have a conversation, and get a blow job, sometimes at the same time. It’s just ... fun!

Yes, the Classic pump seems to be the better design. I got the impression that Dr. Eid, for one, has stopped implanting the OTR. (I could be wrong about that.)

Just way too many pump and tubing failures with the Titans, I've seen this too often on here. If you have a chance to go overseas, maybe Australia, see if you can get the Rigicon infla10. I'm gonna look to go that route when mine fails.

Thank you for your advice! My understanding is that it's specifically the Titan with the OTR (One-Touch Release) pump that has a high rate of early breakdowns, whereas the Titan with the Classic pump has proven much more robust. At least that's what Dr. Eid told me. I hope he's right. I'd rather not go overseas and pay out of pocket for the revision.

If the Rigicon is a superior product, I hope it eventually will come to the U.S. too – perhaps it time for my next revision!

Can anybody recommend a surgeon in New Jersey

My implant is broken and I need revision surgery. Dr. Eid doesn’t take my current insurance, and I just discovered that all insurance plans that are available for me for next year are limited to providers in New Jersey. (I actually live in New Jersey, not in New York.)

Can anybody recommend a surgeon in New Jersey? I’ve gotten to trust Dr. Eid and feel pretty crushed about not being able to have him do my revision. I’d be very grateful for any tips about surgeons in New Jersey.
