With a good surgeon, either way will get good results. The reason people say go with what your surgeon recommends is because many surgeons prefer one method over the other, for various reasons. Dr Clavell told me he does PS because he feels he gets the best results and that's the method he uses. The Dr I chose, Dr Karpman, uses IP for the same reasons. Why ask them to use a method they're not comfortable with? If you're dead set on one method, then have that be one of the criteria for your choice of surgeon. I had it done IP and had great results, no noticeable tubing whatsoever, and a quick pain free recovery.

That was the hardest part of my surgery. Dr. Hakky said because I'm relatively slender and the space of Retzius is somewhat small on me, that the reservoir tried to keep popping upward and forming a visible bulge. After several attempts to get it to stay put he used a figure-8 suture stitch as would be used in a hernia surgery, to secure it in place. So far so good, it's very well hidden and seems to be working as designed.

The ONLY thing that I am going to interact with in terms of this implant is the pump, and I'm going to use it often. I wanted that pump placed exactly where it should be and not worry about tugging on it during healing or having it end up too high because it being more difficult to place going IP. I don't give a crap where the reservoir is, as long as I can't see or feel it, but I DO care where the pump is in my scrotum.

Just FYI I did PS surgery and my pump was quite high on the right side, and required pulling to bring it down.

After months of research I found a Dr in Dallas(350 miles from my home) that qualified under Perito that specialized in IP approach. At the time I was sold out on that being the best for me. Now 3-1/2 years later and 35-40 pounds less belly I have a tube that slightly protrudes up top of my shaft. It don’t hurt but shows slightly and I can feel it when full depth buried grinding on my wife. My only concern is that it could eventually lead to a break from bending it. Now my issue is my tips of implants are poking my wife and hurts her when we do any position other than missionary. I’ve always felt stretch in girth when maxed but never felt pressure in my glands. Think I may have slightly undersized implants which is causing floppy glands.Have an appointment with Clavell in January to look at revision and would like to see if I can go back with PS approach this time and then I’ll have a good idea of how both feel and compare. Also see what he says about supporting the tips of implants. Seems I heard on one of his videos that he has a way of padding and supporting the tips in the gland, if you know anything about this please respond

Rider1400, during recovery I read several posts about erosion, got concerned, then talked to my Dr about it. First, he emphasized that although I was recovering slowly, I wasn't anywhere near risk of erosion. Then he assured me that even if I ever experienced erosion, that he had repaired that condition many times using a mesh or pad that's inserted between the tips and glans. I'll be anxious to compare that to what your Dr has to say.
