Re: Malleable Boston Scientific 3 Weeks Angle
I have an IPP, but I love hearing the experiences of my malleable brethren! Such a different set of advantages, challenges, and logistics you guys have to deal with. Thanks for sharing, I really like learning about how all this works for you guys.

I’ve got a Coloplast Genesis malleable. It wasn’t until day 44 that I could bend it cleanly to 90° (straight down, 6 o’clock). Before that it felt like a scary pair of steel pipes set in concrete, no give at all. Around week 6-7 it started to settle, and by week 7-8 it was easily manageable and under control. Slow healer here too. Go easy on yourself, time helps, and you’ll get there too once the shaft soreness cools down.
I was a fast healer but had a pretty similar experience. My penis was like rebar until the first 5 weeks or so, and now it's more manageable at 11 months in.
Still using it multiple times per week, still loving every minute of it.
I'm posting my one-year report in December!
Congrats on your malleable!
Hey Duke, I’m stoked to hear that you’ll be posting a “year in review” report in December![]()
I’ve decided ultimately that the malleable will be the right choice for me - biggest worry now is actually the bending aspect that you’re experiencing RVGuy.
I was leaning Rigi10 on account of the rigidity - but I’ve heard mixed reviews on the bend ability. Might go with the Genesis ultimately. When all is said and done, I just want a reliable erection!
RVGuy the good news is that from most things I’ve read on the forum, the process of bending it does get better overall with time as your body heals and the malleable settles in.
Bending does get easier with time as the capsule forms and body heat gradually softens the silicone a bit.
My vote (and my surgeon's vote) for the Genesis over the Tactra was that the Genesis is more bendable and — crucially — is the only malleable implant with a hydrophilic coating for added antibacterial properties.

The Rigi10 also has hydrophilic coating.

Thanks! I have the Boston scientific Tactra. I think all of the different implants work. There’s just a difference in if you get two rods or one rod. I am at four weeks and from what the doctor says the nerves have to heal before the flexibility takes place.
As for the pain, it’s mostly at night now and thank goodness for gabapentin and Tylenol. I am going to work next week and I found it doesn’t matter what I wear. The bulge is the bulge. It’s not going anywhere until the nerves heal.
Thankfully, I have a suit to wear over my dress pants and when I go out when I’m not working, I’m just forced to wear a longer darker shirt and bigger size jeans to help conceal. Hopefully around week six this thing is gonna start to go down some or the nerves will heal so that I can bend it down. In the end, it will be fun that you can just basicallyvbe ready on command at all times!

Re: Malleable Boston Scientific 3 Weeks Angle
I'm on my 2nd Rigicon implant due to under sizing. The 1st on 6-2023 would bend different angles. The 2nd one 6-2024 does not bend at all ..unless you call always bending to the right and having to be straightened out even to pee straight. Dr. does not appear to be willing to address it been back 2 times to see him go again next year. I think it should be reported as a failed implant. I'm convinced he did not do the surgery but one of his students who might have damaged the implant installing it. Anyone else have a Rigicon and issues?
Rigicon since 6-2023 happy to share my experience and do show and tell

Keep us posted on how your next consult goes, easymoney.
I learnt that some surgeons intentionally size the rods about 0.5/1 cm shorter than the intra-op measured length. Not everyone is vocal about it as it's not what we patients want to hear!
That small undersizing lowers constant pressure at the distal and proximal tips and leaves enough slack for the rods to flex, which helps with bending. If that 0.5/1 cm margin wasn’t used, we can end up with less give. Tight sizing with no room to flex can also cause some deformity. Skilled corporal dilatation and sizing is more critical for MPPs due to its unforgiving static nature.
My Genesis has good bending properties and "adequate" rigidity. Residual tumescence, if strong enough, can be an added bonus for some individuals. One complaint I've read in this forum about Genesis is that it can bend or buckle in some positions. That's not my experience so far, but time will tell and I will speak-up openly if it happens.
On a positive side, the less a rod wants to bend, the higher its axial rigidity tends to be, which can improve sexual function, with some concealment trade-off, which most of us figure out creatively one way or the other. I think that's where the newer models such as Rigi10/Tactra really shine. On the other hand, newer designs need some time "in vivo" for the manufacturers to workout the bugs after it's out in the real world.
