Pulling The Pump Down / Into Position

Postby ElbowRoom » Fri Oct 24, 2025 8:21 pm

I’m scheduled to start pulling my pump down tomorrow. I wasn’t having any pain there, so I reached down and gave it a light, tentative pulling pressure. Whoo boy, immediate sharp, burning pain with that.

Is that how it’s going to be, positioning the pump? Has mine adhered already and needs to be set free?

Hi and congratulations on joining the group.

I had discomfort pulling down which I started the day after surgery. No shap pain but with the stitches and all it hurt. If you're not 100% sure it's right call your Dr. It will put your mind at ease.

7 weeks in yesterday and things are improving nicely. Dr said my pump is where it should be so now its let the scar tissue heal and I've been enjoying sex even if not 100% yet.

Good Luck to you.

A week after my surgery I bent down to put my shoes on and it pulled hard, my eyes rolled and watered it was so bad.

But pulling pump I haven’t endured any pain. I always massage it well then while massaging I’ll pull down.
Many times it seemed like it grew into my left ball but as balls swell and shrink the pump seems to go solo like a third nut.
One of those things that change a lot for me.

ElbowRoom, I experienced adhesion due to a long delay in beginning to cycle -- almost 8 weeks. My Dr said adhesion takes time, and in my case it was just enough time for that to happen. Your recovery has gone pretty quickly, so IMHO I doubt there's been enough time for it to set up and adhere. Yes for some guys pulling the pump is really painful, for some guys its easy, and for some guys (me) the pump just ended up in the right place. That didn't make up for everything else I went thru, but at least I got lucky on that one :)

Best wishes. The best advice I've read is to do it slowly, not big jerks at one time, and be patient and go slowly.

Thanks. Yeah, I’m pulling slowly and steady, no big “jerks” on it. It’s mostly just sore, but occasionally I do get a sharp pain and that’s where I stop for that session. It doesn’t seem to move much, so I guess it will take time. My pump is currently up high on the right side and behind the testicles. I think it could be used there, but not ideal or convenient.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I didn't have to pull the pump down, it was down from the time I left the hospital. I would like to move it to the back of the scrotum, behind the testicles. Hopefully massaging it would help.
80 Y/O. Had a few months ED when I was 47 (after my wife died) but I recovered. ED returned with my present wife when I was 72. I tried Viagra, which worked for a few years, then got only semi erections. On 9/6/24 I got an AMS600 from the V.A.
