Re: ElbowRoom's Implant Experience Journal
Best wishes ElbowRoom, you may well have been implanted and recovering by now.
I've been following your journey for some time and I know you have done the due diligence very thoroughly.
I think that will help you enormously through the recovery process and I'm sure you can look forward to a great outcome.
Be patient and be kind to yourself as you go through it

Re: ElbowRoom's Implant Experience Journsibleius
Sorry to keep you all hanging. Surgery went well! I ended up with a 28cm Titan with Classic pump. I have mixed feelings, it’s nice to get such a big implant, but it means RTEs are in my future for any revisions. Oh well, nothing is perfect!
The facility Hakky uses is the modern outpatient surgical center at Northside hospital in Lawrenceville, just outside of Atlanta. It’s a very nice facility.
hakky went over everything we had already decided to confirm. He asked me if the implant was right on the edge if he should upsize or stay a little smaller. I said “upsize of course”. He did say that could lead to shaft pain on aggressive inflation for the first three months, but I’m okay with that. Hakky was thorough but fast, he was obviously super busy on a surgery day and I get that.
The nurses were top-notch, very friendly and joking with me. I appreciate that and don’t really like when healthcare providers treat you like a piece of meat or a lab frog they are dissecting.
Once I was positioned they turned on the juice, a little push at first relax me, then they started asking me questions and I knew they were putting me under and gauging my level of sedation. That didn’t last long and I was out. What UFO abductees call “missing time”.
I woke and could feel the dressings on my groin and I was pretty groggy for a few, but quickly woke up. I could feel my dick felt heavier, even besides the dressings, but kinda just normal too. Pretty numb from the nerve blocks (and still is 6 hrs later. Hakky came by and talked to me. The highlights:
* The surgery took 15min longer than usual, as he found some scarring/fibrosis that hadn’t shown on the doppler, that needed to be removed during dilation of the corpora. No problem there and he got it done.
* He said I’m a “true” 28cm, didn’t really need upsizing. Not sure if he was being serious, but he said I was the first true 28cm implant he’s needed to do on a Caucasian. Maybe he says that to all the girls, but it made me feel good.
* He left me about 30% inflated, it will stay that way until the first follow-up and cycling in one week. Even at 30% it feels kinda stiff.
* He had to do a version of a hernia repair stitch to secure the reservoir. I’m pretty slender and the space of Retzius is pretty small on me. The reservoir kept wanting to slide up and become visible under the skin, so he secured it. I appreciate the extra effort to make it look better.
* The reservoir was slightly overfilled, 5ml, to make sure there was plenty of fluid for full inflation.
So I made it home and everything seems to be going well. No reach pain yet, but there are the beginnings of some twinges in the head of my penis, and I *think* I can feel the reservoir when move enough to engage my lower ab muscles. The biggest issue is urination, I have been peeing a lot and it kind of feels like I always have to pee. Sometimes a little drop of urine will just ooze out. I assume it’s because the tight wrap is compressing things and not letting me fully empty. The wrap comes off tomorrow afternoon and that will show me more.
Also if I flex my pelvic floor muscles, things feel a little different. Like the muscles are engage around the implant instead of pushing blood through structures. Just different and I’ll get used to it.
I have some pics but I’m having trouble getting my iPad to shrink the images enough for the forum to accept, so I’ll post them as soon as I figure that out.
Cheers!

Re: ElbowRoom's Implant Experience Journal
I admit I’m finding the ice tough. I have the freezer bags of frozen popcorn, but I can’t put them directly on the dressing as they form condensation and will get things wet. If I use a blanket or towel between then it doesn’t seem very cold. Suggestions?
I haven’t felt a huge need for ice yet, but probably because I’m still mostly numb. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be doing it for the swelling. Will I get better results from the ice once the mummy wrap is off later today?

Congratulations ElbowRoom, you are now officially a member of the Bionic Brotherhood

Sounds like it went really well and you have an excellent surgeon who has gone the extra mile to get the outcome you wanted.
Yeah, all that sounds pretty normal. As you are better endowed than most of us I'm guessing that you may feel things a bit more.
I was similar, pissing constantly. It seemed like I was urinating far more fluid than I was putting in. I was also spraying a bit to the sides, probably because I was left 30% erect for 6 weeks. So I ended up buying a wide mouth 1 litre water bottle from the supermarket and peeing into that for the first few weeks.
I found the same, towels etc were useless. Do you guys have those Chux re-usable kitchen wipes or similar? (EDIT: looks like Scotch-Brite might have the same thing, and there are probably others/generic ones anyway). I used those as they are much thinner than a towel, quick drying, and you can feel the ice working without it being in contact with your skin.

Thanks my brother from Oz, it’s good to have finally pulled the trigger and joined the club!
I’m glad my experiences are lining up with yours, I know you had a great result so it makes me feel I’m on the right track.
I have a portable wide-mouth urinal I have been using, but the last couple of times I tried standing and angling my hips to point my member in the right direction over the toilet. It works, but is logistically challenging as I have to juggle the surgical drain and hold a piece of tissue under the urethra so I don’t dribble onto my bandages. I have “progressed” to it feeling like I’m pissing razor blades, so I guess feeling is beginning to return.

The hospital gave us some reusable ice bags that have a terry cloth exterior, I’ll see if those work any better for getting the cold where it needs to be.
Dr. hakky had me on a clear liquid diet the day before surgery and I only ate one meal today, so I haven’t had to shit yet. With this thing poking up I can already tell it will be hilariously annoying.
