The Waiting is The Hardest Part

Postby Courage » Mon Aug 18, 2025 7:54 pm

Almost four weeks out from the re-do. Leaving the thing alone as much as possible. Every little soreness or tickle or shadow on the incision gets me worried after my first experience. I did work myself into a scare a week or so ago. The doctor calmed me down. I'm doing my best not to bother him too much.

Mentally this has been rough. In retrospect, I'd have gone to my second surgeon first. Or maybe just accepted the problem. Don't know--I understand numbers and accepted them. Not going to bitch too much. Wish I could find the easy button though!

Waiting til 6 weeks (week before follow-up) to ask about cycling. Have my fingers crossed here.

As I understood it your peak of risk for infection is significantly less than 4 weeks, no? You’re gonna be fine, brother, just a few more weeks and you’ll be making up for last time. And in a few months it will be the greatest dick ever.
50. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Thanks, man. Not sure about peak--my understanding was before 3 months. Things went to shit first time at about 7 weeks--cleared to cycle on Thursday, in surgery on following Tuesday. Three months is what I have my head geared to.

Anyway, read your exploits. You're an inspiration!

Hey Courage, popping in to say “hang in there”! I had my first consultation around getting an implant last week - the consultation alone made me anxious and hopeful at the same time… so I’m sure those kinds of feelings are dialed up for you by 1000 right now while you’re recovering. We’re all rooting for you man!!
First consultation with Dr Hakky on August 6th, 2025! Excited to get discussions going. Interested in MPP.
