He has referred me for an MRI + Ultrasound with Caverject. Total cost £1,200+! Stomach nearly hit the floor when I read the quote.

£450+ for the Ultrasound and £774 for the MRI. Makes no sense to me lol. I'm now desperately trying to get my Irish insurance to cover the cost of doing these tests in England.

You're based in Ireland? What's the public health system there? Why can't you use NHS or the Irish health system to just do these tests/then continue on with surgery with Rees?

I have public and private health care in Republic of Ireland but they don't do penis MRIs in Republic of Ireland.

I also have an address in Northern Ireland (UK) and I have an NHS GP there but how would I get him to refer me to London for an MRI? I don't think he would do that. I only ever consulted with him once, 2 years ago, and he wasn't very sound. I don't want to imagine how the conversation would go if I called in and asked him to get the NHS to pay for my MRI in England.

Just do the Doppler and MRI in NI then. Its not the GP doing it. He'll refer to the NI hospital for them and then take the results to Rees
Mid 30s. UK. ED since mid teens. Done the pills, injections, P Shot, Gainswave, ESWT shockwave.

Now preparing to take the plunge under care of Professor Ralph at UCLH. Planning on a Rigicon Infla10 AX with Pulse pump.

They don't do the penis MRI in NI either, only London. I'd have to ask him to give me an NHS referral for it in London. Maybe I should do that, I wonder if he'll have any objection to referring me, he probably will.

In my case my doctor would not refer me to get the doppler the Ed nurse could not either but the Ed nurse could refer me to an andrology clinic where I could get it done hopefully

What do you think it would find that would make any difference?

That’s entirely fair I think it’s just I’m quite close to an implant and want to make sure. Guess it’s just daunting really.

Hi mate. It was meant to be £300 I think but they gave it to me for free. I think they gave it to me free because I have to spend so much on this crazy scan, and I think they know I will likely be getting an implant.

Bit off topic. When I was in Houston, Texas seeing Clavell, took the doppler test. Such a test was not even available in Tokyo where I live. They they injected me with the tri-mix to see the effect. Nothing --- no erection whatsoever. The nurse there was shocked. Was told that my venous leakage was among the worst, if not the worst that they have every seen.

I recall the cost was $250. Personally, I am glad that I took the test, provided closure.
Venous Leakage (which I believe caused by my overuse of the Bathmate VED)

Perfectly on topic man! I think that’s exactly why I’m looking to get the test. If it’s able to give me some closure, I haven’t really been given a definitive answer by the consultants or healthcare professionals so far, some have said my condition can be causing it/others don’t know.

For me, it really is sad that, for countless, perhaps hundreds or more years, medical professionals would in essence blame the male for not being able to get an erection. They would blame it on the man's mental state of mind, or other such nonsense. And it still happens even today; at least certainly it does in Japan where doctors do not even offer a doppler test anywhere in the country. And probably throughout the world including the US, UK, etc. where even many doctors do not even understand that the underlying issue of ED is actually venous leakage --- which even today is often not even treatable, let alone curable.
