getting vasectomy after implant
Anyone here, got a vasectomy after a penile implant? Is it a risky procedure for the implant? How is the recovery?
55 year old divorced 10 years, now with new partner, struggling with ED. Tried pills, injections, shock therapy. Implanted 22 Jan 2025 with Dr. Darshan Patel, AMS 700 CX 21 cm + 1 cm.

Age 59. AMS 700 LGX 21cm + 2cm RTE.
Peniscrotal, 2/23.
6.25" OEM with Cialis, about 5" post-op. (11/01: Length 6.75" and girth is up to 4.75" mid shaft.) Still growing, albeit slowly.
Cycling daily. Hoping to get to 7".

69yo, HBP @ 40, high triglycerides @ 45. Phimosis @ 57. Type 2 @ 60. Dr. William Brant May 1, 2023 CX 21cm w/no rte's penoscrotal 6" girth @ 6 months.

65 with ED for >10 years. Failed pills, not happy with injections. Implanted 6/24/24 (AMS CX 21 cm) with Dr Darshan Patel at UCSD.

It is a very minor procedure and usually isn't a risk for the implant, however a your doc will probably take care to avoid infection by giving prophylactic antibiotics.

Is it a good idea to have the same doctor that did the implant also do the vasectomy?
I'd think he would be most familiar with the extra equipment in there and how to avoid damaging anything.
Also, would it be prudent to have a sperm count done beforehand? In my case, I took testosterone replacement for many years, but had to stop over a year ago due to a mini stroke.
Could that drop my sperm count enough that I don't need a vasectomy?
