Gym Goers

Postby Donger200 » Sun Jun 29, 2025 5:39 am

Hi All,

Pre implant I was a regular in the gym, and having just had my 3 week post op check up and the staring of my cycling, the surgeon said I could start back at the gym.

I have had some discomfort in the penis and scrotum again since the start of my cycling (all normal stuff) but after the op I was very sensitive around the abdomen, too. This has long gone, but I still feel some aching around the reservoir area, especially when I've done a few things around the house. This feels like an overstretched muscle, or when you've strained from reaching for something and goes as quick as it comes, or can be more annoying if I've sat with pressure around that area.

Anyway, my question to any gym goers is, did you have this before starting back? Did the gym help? Make it worse?

I'm only going to be doing very light exercise after 3 weeks, but there will of course be some strain of that area doing only light weights, so thought I'd see how anybody else tackled it?

Cheers

Ease back into the workouts. My first implant, i took my time. Dr said 4-6 weeks but even then, started walking on treadmill and very light lifting. I laid off any ab exercises for a while. Listen to your body. I am two days after revision and on my back. I will be following my own advice. Best to you !

Hi Bandit,

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll give it another week and maybe some short walks this week just to ease myself into things.
All the best with your recovery.

Cheers

Im a bit of gym rat, your body will incorporate all the new parts, it takes time, your brain takes a little longer, my reservoir is extra deep ( revision)
And with out pain but on some exercises especially crutches I know it there
Take your time in a year you’ll be amazing
