Bringing spouse to initial consultation

I plan on bringing my wife to my initial consultation. My thought is if she were getting a bionic pussy I’d have plenty of questions, therefore she should go with me for the consultation. We’ve been together for over 20yrs. I’m currently doing injections and feel like we’re trying to have a baby with scheduling sex with the shot.

What have some of you guys done? Straight or gay doesn’t matter- the more responses the better. She’s more nervous than I am.

It sounds like you and I are in the same situation, I've been with my wife 20 years, we're interested and involved with each other's healthcare decisions. I've also been on Trimix and we're tired of the scheduling and hassles.

I had my initial consult with Dr. Hakky in February. My wife couldn't attend in person because of work commitments, but I Facetime'd her in on my iPad during the discussion. She was able to hear all of the discussion and ask questions. Hakky addressed her directly and told her how great it was she was in on this and part of the conversation. That really made her feel like "part of the team".

If your wife is willing I'd say definitely include her in the consult.

Every relationship is different but I think communication is the key, and I would absolutely have your wife join you if she wants to. After my prostate cancer diagnosis in 2020 my wife attended several of my appointments leading up to and following my prostatectomy in 2022, with the same surgeon who also did my implant. I kept her in the loop in great detail throughout my ensuing ordeal with ED and other RP related problems, and she has obviously lived through it with me anyway. The prospect of an implant was on the horizon long before I actually committed to it and I kept her informed at every step. I asked if she wanted to attend the implant related discussions but she was happy to let me handle it and explain it to her afterwards. We have also been married for nearly 47 years and known each other for 53 years. After that much time together we frequently do things independently. We always keep each other informed but also often attend medical appointments together as well.

Blankuser, I generally agree with the comments above. That said, if she seems generally positive about the possibilities, I'd take her. If she seems somewhat negative, you might want to make a first pass alone until you feel more comfortable. But, at some point, you'll need to include her and get her onboard.

Been with my wife 21 years. Shes been thru it all with me. Cancer, prostate surgery, ED as a result, 1st implant along with its failure and soon to be revision. Shes been to every appointment with me. Shes supportive and shes been my rock. I depended on her for all of it and wouldn’t change a thing. She knows me better than anyone and knows what questions i need to ask before i do. She also processed all info, good and bad when my head was spinning with emotion. Shes my right arm !

We were married very young. Great long sex life, almost no limits. As ED slowly showed up. She knew before me. She could tell that I wasn't as hard as in the past. She was the first to suggest an implant....twice. I asked two different urologists who both said they didn't do them. Didn't offer up any names either.
I discovered FT. The sky opened up. I read voraciously. Several implanted men locally contacted me by private messages. I think one had used Dr. Hotling. The rest had used Dr. Brant. I showed my wife an implant surgery. Might not of been a wise choice. Covid hit just after my first visit with him. Getting a surgery scheduled was nearly impossible. Hospitals were over loaded.
As covid got better I made a second appointment. Decided to do it. He gave me a few dates to chose from. My wife was out of town in our condo at each appointment. She did attend the surgery.
In my case, I don't think her missing the appointment meant much. I will say that just before surgery she became fearful that I'd die on the table. I was in good spirits.
She was well versed in what was going to happen. I had carefully explained my talks with Dr. Brant. She was a veteran of many of her own surgeries.

I'll definately be bringing my wife. I have involved her in my decision making since the start. I'm currently using a VED and restorex to treat Peyronies and prepare myself for an implant. I dislike both, but they appear to be effective and she sees this as me taking one for the team.
What I haven't done is share the knowledge and understanding of the process that I have gained through all my own reading and research so I am sure she will have her own questions which I would prefer the surgeon to awnser rather than me giving my now somewhat biased opinions .
So my advice is go for it. It will affect her as much as you.

YES.....Take your wife.....This implant is a two way thing. You and your wife. My wife, my URO, both of my UROs, had several consulting sessions. And to your questions.....I treated my surgery URO, like he was being interviewed. I had over 30 questions and we went over ALL the questions in detail and what is expected outcomes. From all my military training, "If you can't prove it TRUE, then it must be FALSE and if you can't prove it FALSE, then it must be TRUE".
It's not everyday that a man gets his dick cut on. So having a hell of a lot of questions, is expected. Don't let them fool you.

Yes bring your wife. She will likely have questions and can ask them. My wife had more questions that I did. She asked Dr Hakky when she’d get to test drive this thing and he looked at me and said I had a keeper lol.
She came with me for the ultra sound also, which helped her understand what was happening.
