I'd be interested in knowing how many men never had significant numbness or loss of sensation. Not sure if this poll could be modified or if we'd need a new one. I'd consider no numbness to mean "not extending past the surgical recovery period up to the point you're cleared for sex."

It's not in his interest to investigate this. If it was he would quickly order an MRI.

I tried to set up a self-pay MRI but everyone told me I need a referral so I set up an appt with my GP and I'm going to explain the situation. I know he is going to tell me to get the referral from my Uro. I have an appt with my uro on July 8 but I'm going to try to move it up.

You would think a follow up MRI to check the nerves after surgery would be obligatory.
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled for Coloplast Genesis 5/19/25

Can MRI accurately see nerves? I didn't know that. I had MRI done on my implant, i see all the implant parts very clearly, but i didn't know nerves are seen there

I would consider MRN - Magnetic Resonance Neurography. It's a fancier MRI for nerves. As Kodixx suggested already, maybe a referral to a neurologist will help.

I am not sure how to answer the poll since it lacks some choices. I am at 2 and half weeks post surgery and I have no numbness. There is some pain left but not quite what the nightmare of the first day was with the catheter in. The pain is slight and what was bothering me most recenlty was heightened sensitivity on my glans especially when walking as the pants rub on the underwear and on my dick. As of tonight that has significanlty decreased and I have no numbnecan'ss. Dr. Blick has repeatedly said that by the time we reach the week 3 appointment and I learn to cycle that I can go home and have sex that very night. Up until today I thought that was on the highly optimistic side. But as of right now I can see that happening by next Wednesday. My dick is starting to feel like my old dick. Just some slight pain.

I had the penoscrotal install with a horizontal incision.
Yes, it took a while to heal and it wasn't an easy journey, but I got through it.

First time sex for me at 8 weeks was disappointing and awkward with a bionic dick that still hurt and had numbness. Yes, I waited two more weeks after being cleared for sex to have PIV sex because of the pain I was experiencing.

The numbness made it difficult to feel my way around with my bionic dick to find her hole and penetrate. It was like I was blind and needed help to walk through a house with obstacles.

I'm sure that the needles that pull the implant tubes through your glans really play havoc on the head of your dick.

It just takes time for all of this to heal with the trauma that your dick goes through.

Let me tell you though, at 6 months sensation gets better and then after 6 months to 12 months things are really getting back to normal.

I'm 3.5 years out from surgery and PIV sex couldn't be better.

All of us have different healing rates and some of us have went through prostrate removal and other procedures that cause even more trauma to our junk down there.

Just hang in there, things will get better and the numbness will eventually go away, at least it did for me.

I love my On Demand Bionic Dick
