So; scratch technique, is that to clear away fribrosis and scar tissue so that the cylinder
can be properly placed ? Does the scratch technique also remove plaque and calcification
to reduce curvature. Or; is it the plication only that reduces curvature ?
Thanks
What reduces the curve; scratch technique ( 14 bladed scalpel ), placating or both ?

14 bladed? Have you seen a 14 bladed scalpel? How would that work?
That could do some real damage.
Or is that the scalpel size/shape? A #14 scalpel/knife.
I know a #12 scalpel is a hook blade. The hook blade has been used in a scratch technique.

I stand corrected. Thank you. OK; does the #14 or #12 reduce plaque/calcification in such a way as
to reduce curvature or is it used to clear a path for the cylinder only.
Thanks,

So why does it matter ? I would like to avoid plication as it can potentially reduce length and
apparently you can feel the stitiches.

I think the hook blade #12 can be used along with a nasal speculum to break/cut-up the peyronie's plaque. Then the implant reduces the curvature.

I had a significant upward curve with a hinge. Dr Hakky explained to me that the scratch technique loosens the calcified scar tissue and through use and time it would not be an issue.
Almost 2 years later and my penis is straight and the same size it was when I had surgery,
Memory could be off and I may be missing or not describing something exactly correctly.
That said, find a good surgeon and let them do their job. I never really researched how the PD induced curve would get fixed, I trusted my dr and ultimately it worked out well

How bad is your curvature? i think that is the main consideration for any additional procedures the surgeon may need to do at the time of the surgery to correct the curve. If you don't want shortening, let surgeon know you don't want plication. Most high volume surgeons have an arsenal of techniques to use outside of plication or shortening procedure.

35 degress; so, my guess is plication will not be a factor. I did not know
that significant curve reduction could be achieved with the #12 and dentist tool.
