More than seven months after implant surgery I am still very glad that I made this decision at the time. “I wish I had done this sooner”; the cliché applies to me as well.
Brief summary:
- The pain in the penis when fully inflating the cylinders is almost gone. Only when I have an (almost) 100% erection for a long time, it feels a bit unpleasant, but "pain" is too strong a word for that.
- Ejaculation and achieving orgasm during sex is still hard (I estimate that this happens about 1 in 4 times during sex). Some progress seems visible, but is slow. This may not only be the result of implant surgery. Before the operation I had difficulty with this as well, probably because I was forced to wear a cock ring to maintain my erection. I will have to learn this again.
- Length 22 cm, circumference 16 cm. The circumference has therefore remained the same in the past months, while the length has increased slightly. I don't expect to get my old girth back because it was greater than the maximum girth the Titan Coloplast can achieve. I knew this in advance and I am at peace with this.
- Before my operation I had changing partners. However, after the operation I am in a monogamous relationship. My girlfriend was aware I had the operation from the start, and we went through the (recovery) transition together over the past few months. Our sex life is very good. I do not know what it would have been like if I had continued to have short-lived affairs. A woman only has to feel your testicles once and she knows there's "something strange" there, so keeping it a secret doesn't seem like an option (if you even want to).
- Three days ago, Doctor Van Renterghem performed a ventral phalloplasty on me. After implant surgery in October, my scrotum consisted of "two floors": one for my testicles, and a floor lower for the pump of my prosthesis. By removing excess skin from the scrotum, the scrotum should now become one again. I was under general anesthesia during the operation and was allowed to go home the same day. There is a scar running along the length of my scrotum and lower part of my penis that will become less visible over time. In two weeks the stitches can be removed and I could have sex again, although that seems very soon to me; I cannot imagine that the suture could then be subjected to heavy loads.
I didn't have any pain at any time after the operation and I didn't take any painkillers. Today I exercised again (lightly), with the doctor's approval. Unfortunately, the insurance company refused to pay for this procedure (unlike the implant surgery) because it was considered "aesthetic".
Hi! just checking how you are doing since 2023. Are you still happy with your implant? And i also noticed you had a horizontal incision on your scrotum, during your first implant surgery. Is the scar noticeable, or has it dissappeared completely?
Is size still the same now as it was on day 1 post op?
hope you are well!
Hi, this is the first time on the forum in months. Probably this is something you see a lot: most active members are those considering an implant or those unhappy with the implant. I fall in neither of these two categories; still very happy I got the IPP. With regards to sex and intimate relations the period since surgery has been great.
The only possible negative aspect I can think of is that I still have a hard time to come/ejaculate; I think it is not so much related to the IPP itself, but more to a habit I developed in the years of ED; I then used a tight cock ring to stay hard and tensed my pelvic floor muscles, which decreased sensitivity in the penis. In response, I needed stronger stimulation. Over years this became a habit which is now not easily unlearned.
With regards to length I have regained everything (currently 23-24cm bone pressed). With regards to circumference I have lost a bit (16.5-17cm currently). The scar of the initial IPP surgery is hardly noticeable: over time the scar has become less visible, and as it is at the downside of the scrotum, it can hardly be seen.
The scar from the ventral phalloplasty surgery I had after IPP surgery is more noticeable: this is mostly because the stitches opened during recovery and, as a consquences, the scar is wider than what would be the case otherwise. The scar is, however, on the side of the penis that is turned towards the body, and only on the part close to the scrotum. Therefore, it is only visible during sex (and only when my partner takes a close look, e.g. during a blow job), and over time it is becoming less and less visible. I am happy I got the ventral phalloplasty though: it improved the shape my scrotum had after IPP-surgery greatly.
So overall I am still very pleased with the IPP.
